Moto E5 and E5 Plus Budget Smartphones with Impressive Batteries Launched in India

Lenovo owned Motorola has launched two battery centric budget smartphones for Indian market dubbed as Moto E5 and Moto E5 Plus. Both the smartphones were first unveiled by the company in April this year.

Moto E5 and E5 Plus Price:

Both Moto E5 and E5 Plus have already gone on sale online exclusively via Amazon India. The Moto E5 is priced at Rs. 9,999 and will come in Fine Gold and Flash Gray color options. It will be available in leading offline retail outlets as well. Whereas the E5 Plus is priced at Rs. 11,999 and will come in Fine Gold and Black color options. It will also be available in Moto Hub stores.

As part of the launch offers, the company is providing Rs. 800 instant discount for SBI credit card holders. The other launch offers include extra Rs. 1000 off on exchange, no cost EMO up to 9 months, 80 percent off on first Kindle Book and free transparent case which is included in the box. In addition, the Reliance Jio users will get up to 1.2TB data.

Moto E5 Features and Specifications:

The Moto E5 is a lower end variant out of the two that sports a 5.7-inch MaxVision IPS LCD HD+ display with 1440×720 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC coupled with Adreno 308 GPU, 2GB of RAM and 16GB of onboard storage. There is an option to expand the storage up to 128GB using a microSD card. The device runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box and is backed by an impressive 4,000mAh battery with the 10W charger without the support for fast charging. It can provide up to 18 hours of video playback, 200+ hours of music playback and 20 hours of internet surfing as claimed by the company. In terms of camera, you have a 13MP rear camera with f/2.0 aperture and PDAF, while on the front you have a 5MP camera with f/2.2 aperture for selfies/video calls. In terms of dimensions, the E5 measures 154.4 × 72.2 × 8.95 mm and weighs about 174 grams.

Moto E5 Plus Features and Specifications:

The Moto E5 Plus bears a bigger 6-inch HD+ Max Vision IPS LCD display with resolution of 1440×720 pixels and an 18:9 aspect ratio. Powering the device is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 SoC along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 128GB using a microSD card. It runs Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box and features a massive 5,000mAh battery with 10W charger bundled in the box. There is no fast charging support though. It measures 160.9 x 75.3 x 9.35 mm and weighs in at 197 grams. In terms of optics, you get a 12-megapixel rear camera with f/2.0 aperture, PDAF and laser autofocus. It can also be used to scan QR codes, barcodes and business cards. The front hosts a 5-megapixel selfie camera with f/2.0 aperture, wide-angle lens and flash. It features a glass back (E5 has plastic back) but lacks wireless charging.
