Turbo 2 And Maxx 2 – The Latest Players In Moto’s Race For Supremacyby Rajshree Faria October 21, 2015
If you don’t innovate, you are bound to fall behind in this highly competitive universe of Smartphone technology. With newer and newer brands launching products that stand to compete with the bigwigs, well- established brands like Motorola, Samsung, Sony, and HTC are feeling the heat and the push to come up with something better than the best. On October 27, the Smartphone segment will see Motorola launch two new products that will be one of the brand’s biggest event, and an attempt to appeal to the “tech buds” of all those who have ventured into other brands from Motorola.
The event to be held in New York City will see “Everything you expect from a phone will change…” as per the joint press invite from Motorola and Verizon Wireless. The invite says “newest DROIDs” putting to rest rumours of the launch of not one but TWO new Android rockers from Motorola. If certain online rumours are to be believed, these two Smartphones will be the Droid Turbo 2 and Droid Maxx 2, the next-in-line to continue the legacy of the original Turbo and Maxx phones.
Moto Maxx 2
Let us get to Moto launch #1 first… So what’s new about this Moto Maxx 2? According to Motorola, the Maxx 2 will have a removable back panel which means that the user will be able to remove the SIM although the battery will still be non-removable. Users will also be able to change the back panel according to their whims and fancies, because let’s face it: nobody likes to have a phone that is similar to thousands of others!
On the specs front, the Maxx 2 is likely to sport a 5.5” full HD screen with 1920 x 1080p display resolution and will come with 21 MP primary and 5 MP front camera. A 1.7GHz quad-core Snapdragon 615 processor is what will power the beast along with 2 GB of RAM that will ensure the smoothest functioning. The 32 GB of internal storage will be accompanied by an expandable storage capacity of up to 128 GB. The “Maxx” name comes probably from the formidable 3,630 mAh battery that will provide the juice for the powerful phone for up to 48 hours!
Droid Turbo 2
The successor to last year’s impressive Moto Turbo is to be made available with Moto Maker, the brand’s customizability program that allows the customer to select a colour of their choice for the back cover as well as the handset, adding to the uniqueness of their phone. Additionally, those who purchase the Turbo 2 through this program will get the option of tweaking their phone design once within two years of purchase at no extra cost. Sounds interesting, doesn’t it? If you are the office klutz who is known for dropping their phone every now and then, then the Turbo 2 is perfect for you.
As per reports, the Smartphone will come with a 5.5 inch “shatterproof screen” that will support Quad HD display resolution. It will be equipped with the Octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor and a massive 3 GB of RAM. Users who love to capture every moment of their lives will be happy with the 21 MP primary and 5 MP front camera on the Turbo 2.
Although there are no reports on the pricing, the Turbo 2 will most likely cost you dearly while the Maxx 2 will be mid-range. Now all we got to do is wait and watch if Motorola is able to regain their once supremacy in the mobile phone market or not…
