Moto Alexa Mod Is More Expensive Than The Amazon Echo

by October 20, 2017

Just like Google Home, Amazon’s Alexa is a quite popular AI assistant. Powering the Amazon Echo device, the Alexa can reply to queries or perform tasks such as playing music, ordering food, setting up reminders, and control lights in a connected “smart” home. To bring this functionality to Moto phones, Lenovo has unveiled a Moto Smart Speaker mod that comes with Alexa voice assistant support.

The snap-on mod connects to your Moto phone’s back. It has four four microphones to ensure Alexa always hears you. Just like the Echo devices, this mod enables your phone to connect to a variety of smart devices.
Its dock design makes for a perfect nightstand. So that your phone charges while still providing the convenience of Alexa. The mod does not draw power from your phone’s battery. It comes with a built-in battery that lasts up to 15 hours on a single charge.

Moto Smart Speaker with Amazon Alexa will be available for $150 (approx. Rs 10,000) starting from November. Considering that the Alexa Echo costs only $34, Moto Smart Speaker mod seems pointless.
