When you look back at the times gone by, you realize that the world is just getting smarter, and if you happen to look into your watch to know THAT time, you will know that the watch itself has gotten smarter too. The innovators of our decade have turned our humble watches into uber cool “Smart”watches, adding tons of features to them…and one of the biggest players in this segment is Motorola which is looking to cement its position as an inventive brand with its launch of the Moto 360 Smartwatch 2nd Gen.

Announced to the world at the IFA Berlin in September of this year, the Moto 360 Smartwatch will be coming to India on the 1st of December, if the press invite sent out by the company is any indication. The invite features the Moto 360 Smartwatch dial, and asks for the media’s presence in New Delhi for some ‘Moto’ news. Although not explicitly mentioned, it is assumed that the big news is indeed, the newer Moto 360.

For all you folks who didn’t catch the details of the Moto 360 (2nd Gen) in September, here’s some info on the wearable. The new Moto 360 comes in three different sizes; there are two versions of the 42mm model, one for men, and the other for women, along with another 46mm model for only men.

We have decided not to judge Motorola as being sexist but attribute the variations to the fact that Motorola realized that women do tend to have slimmer wrists! The men’s version of the 42mm model will be accompanied by a 20mm strap, while the women’s version will have a 16mm band. The 46mm one will see a 22mm strap on it.

Coming to the Smartwatch’s display… the 42mm and 46mm models sport a 1.37” and a 1.56” LCD display, respectively. Both the displays are protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass 3. With the Smartwatch being IP67-certified, the wearer can rest assured that the watch will survive in 1m of water for up to 30 minutes.

The Moto 360 2nd Gen is equipped with a Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor which clocks a speed of up to 1.2GHz and also boasts of an Adreno 306 GPU which clocks at 450MHz. It has 512MB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. Its connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g.

The 42mm variant will sport a 300mAh battery while the bigger one will sport a 400mAh battery. All the models will support wireless charging. Like the other Android Smartwatches, this one too will come with ambient display capability wherein the smartwatch, very smartly, switches to a black and white mode which helps in conserving power.

The Indian prices for the Moto 360 2nd Gen have not been revealed yet, but it can be estimated to be anywhere from around Rs.20,000 to Rs.35,000, depending on the variant. So if you’re looking for a smarter watch, you may want to wait a week or so to see what Motorola has to offer.
