Misfit Vapor 2, the latest wear OS smartwatch from the company has been launched. The Misfit Vapor 2 will come with a price tag of $249.99, which roughly converts to around Rs. 18,300.

The smartwatch will succeed the Misfit Vapor, which was launched by the Fossil-owned brand last year. The smartwatch Vapor 2 brings in exciting features such as GPS and NFC. These features were missing in its predecessor.

The smartwatch also comes with an upgraded heart rate sensor. However, most of its design has been retained from its predecessor. The Misfit Vapor 2 will be available for sale across the company’s website and through other retailers. The company has not yet divulged the official dates from when the smartwatch can be purchased. They have left it to just the “coming soon” tag.

The company has revealed specifications of the smartwatch and its price as mentioned previously. The smart wearable is priced at $249 which is roughly $50 more than its predecessor.  It is not yet clear if the Vapor 2 will make its way into the Indian market soon. If the trend with its predecessor is any indication, the Indian launch was done almost a year after the global launch.

The Misfit Vapor 2 sports an AMOLED display. It comes in two sizes. One with a 1.19-inch display and a 41mm case. The other with a 1.39-inch display and a 46mm case. Both versions have a resolution of 328 pixels per inch. The key highlight is the in-built GPS and the NFC features. Users can now track the exact speed, distance covered etc. during running, jogging etc. They can also monitor, and track elevation and time taken during their runs. Users can also make payments seamlessly via Google Pay due to the NFC chip in the smartwatch. This feature, however, will be launched in select countries only.

The Misfit Vapor comes with a ‘redesigned’ heart rate sensor. It has Google Assistant built into it. The smartwatch is water resistant for up to 30 metres. The smartwatch is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 2100 SoC, instead of the new Snapdragon Wear 3100 processor, which is a let down from a potential buyer’s point of view.
