Microsoft recently unveiled 2 new Lumia devices – Lumia 640 and 640 XL. Preloaded with Windows Phone 8.1 OS, the handsets will effectively replace the Lumia 630 and 635 which were launched last year. However, Microsoft plans to bring the Windows 10 to all its Lumia devices somewhere down the line.

In terms of specifications, both the models are touted to offer the best mobile experience to the users. With the best hardware packed in, the Lumia 640 and 640XL is all ready to set a new benchmark for all the future Windows devices, thereby going head to head with Android and iOS handsets.

The Lumia 640 features a decent 5-inch screen with a 720p resolution. This makes gaming, browsing and watching videos more pleasant and fun. The powerful quad core processor combined with 1GB RAM promises to make multitasking easy and seamless. The 8MP rear camera is capable of shooting 1080p videos at 30fps, while the front-facing snapper manages a resolution of up to 720p. In case you are looking for a mobile phone with a screen that is larger than the usual 5” screen, the Nokia Lumia 640 XL should be your perfect choice of phone. No doubt, you may find it a bit tough pushing it down your trouser pocket, but the phone more than makes for its problem with its large size display screen and supreme quality picture clarity.

The processor and the RAM remain the same. However, with a 13MP primary camera and a 5MP front-snapper, the Lumia 640 XL plans to offer you something better. Both these cameras have the capacity to record videos at 1080P. Above all, the handset packs in an impressive 3000mAh battery which offers a maximum talk time of up to 31 hours.

The LTE version of the Lumia 640 will cost somewhere around Rs. 9,600/- approx while the 3G version is expected to come with a price tag of Rs. 11,000/-. The Lumia 640 XL, on the other hand, will be slightly expensive. The LTE version will be available for Rs. 13,000/- and the 3G model will come with a price tag of Rs. 15,150/-. The devices will be out in stores starting March this year. However, there is no word yet on their release in the Indian market.
