The Washington-based tech giant has finally unveiled its all-new Surface Pro X 2021 in India. The device will be a 2-in-1 convertible that is primarily a tablet, however, by adding the optional keyboard, this new Surface can be used as a full-fledged laptop. The latest Microsoft offering will draw its power from Microsoft’s own SQ1/SQ2 chipsets which are ARM-based CPUs.

A few key specs that you must know are 3:2 screen, competent optical setup, and a long battery life of up to 15 hours. The Surface convertible laptop will be available at a premium price tag just under ₹94,000. Let’s dive into the specs and features that this 2-in-1 laptop comes loaded with.

Microsoft Surface Pro X 2021: Key specs & features

With a tall aspect ratio of 3:2, Surface Pro X 2021 is equipped with a 13” panel with PixelSense technology, backed up by a 10-point multi-touch, and will produce 2880*1920 pixels. On the software front, the latest Surface will boot on Windows 11 out of the box.

At its core, the Surface Pro X 2021 lineup will be equipped with the brand’s in-house octa-core SQ1/SQ2 CPUs paired with Adreno 685/690 graphic cards. Once charged, Microsoft claims to offer a long battery life of up to 15 hours and it will also come with latest connectivity options such as Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0. There will be no LTE or 5G variant available for the Indian market.

Moving to the optical setup, the all-new Surface is equipped with a 5MP front sensor along with the 10MP rear lens that will support 4K recording. On the audio front, the 2-in-1 tablet is equipped with dual microphone, stereo speakers with Dolby Audio support. The speaker output will be 2W each.

The tablet chassis is constructed of anodized aluminum and Microsoft has used a fanless cooling system by using carbon composite for better heat dispersal. With just a 7.3mm thickness, the latest addition to the Surface lineup will just weigh 774 grams. The device will also support Slim Pen 2.

Pricing and availability

The SQ1 variant of the new Surface Pro X 2021 will be focused primarily on a general user who doesn’t have any heavy workflow. The base variant comes with 8 gigs of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage will come at a price tag of ₹93,999. Buyers will have to purchase the accessories such as Signature Type Cover and Keyboard, separately.

For business-centric users, Microsoft is offering the same SQ1 variant at a tad higher price of ₹94,599, whereas the 8GB memory and 256GB storage combination will go on sale at a price tag of ₹1,13,299. The higher variants with SQ2 CPU will come with 16GB memory + 256GB storage and 16GB RAM + 512GB storage will come at a hefty price tag of ₹1,31,799 and ₹1,50,499, respectively.
