Talk about the best smartphone brands in India and Micromax is sure to find its place in the list. The Indian tech giant has taken the market by its horn, which is dominated by the international brands like Samsung, Apple, and LG amongst others. The brand has carved a niche of its own in the affordable smartphone segment. After flooding the market with a wide range of affordable smartphone models, the company plans to venture out in the laptop market and bring out a windows-based hybrid laptop.
With the hybrid laptops being in its only early stages, Micromax has planned the launch at the right time. Given the reputation of Micromax for offer the most technologically advanced devices that are loaded with high-tech features. While nothing is revealed yet by the company about the laptop or about what product it is going to release, the rumours are rife it is going to be a hybrid laptop.
The rumours come in the wake of the invitation that the company sent out for an event to the leading technology companies including Microsoft and Intel. The invitation simply states ‘The next smart thing is coming soon’ and the picture features images a smartphone, a PC, TV and a big question mark. If any cues are to be taken from the invitation the company will not be adding to its line of existing products that includes smart phones, TVs and tablets. In the lead up to the launch event, the company has taken it to the social media and has sent out a teaser image on twitter, which appears like a 2-in-1.

So, can we expect a gadget loaded with the latest Microsoft OS and powered by an Intel processor? Surely, we can. If the rumours are to be believed, the Indian gadget manufacturer is most likely to introduce its first ever Windows-based Hybrid laptop. At least that’s what the recent image tweeted by Micromax seems to be pointing to. However, there is no word yet on when the product will be up for grabs. In fact, it also won’t be wise to assume that the company is surely coming up with a hybrid PC, at least at this point in time. Talking about the features, Micromax prefers to stay mum. But, the device is most likely run on the Windows 8.1 Operating System and will be going head-to-head with the surface 3 tablet. Last year at the CES, Micromax had unveiled a similar device called the LapTab, loaded with Android as well as Windows. Packed with the AMD chipset, the gadget was expected to cost somewhere around $500. However, it never made it to the market.
With that being said, we can probably expect something that turns out to be close to the LapTab. But, it won’t make sense yet to bet all your money on the device. In the next couple of weeks we can surely expect to see a clearer picture of what Micromax has in store for us. Till then, let’s hold our breath.
