The new iteration of the Android One smartphone, which is known as Lava Pixel V1 has got a huge upgrade in terms of design as compared to its predecessor models. The metallic back panel that covers the battery lends a touch of elegance to the overall looks. The side and the front panel are made of plastic but it exudes a sturdy and durable feel.
The 2nd Gen Android One phone features a 5.5 HD screen with 720 x 1280 pixel display resolution. The display is quite vibrant and sharp and it offers a decent viewing angles. The new Android One model is powered by the latest Android OS, Lollipop 5.1. Just like its predecessor models it will receive all the latest updates Google releases. It will be first device to get all the software updates. The phone comes with two pre-installed apps, Myntra and Flipkart that cannot be uninstalled. The Lava V1 comes pre-loaded with all the Google Apps and the Google photo app directly integrates to your Google account.
The new iteration of Android One is powered by 1.3 GHz Quad-core Mediatek MT6582 processor and 2 GB RAM. Although the hardware is not the best, it offers a decent performance. Considering it only as a budget phone, the hardware is at par with other phones in the market that fall in the same price range. However, the lack of 4G connectivity is a major drawback.
The phone comes with a 32GB internal storage capacity, out of which only 25GB is available for users. For additional storage there is a slot for an external microSD card expandable up to 32GB.
The 2nd Gen Android One phone sports an impressive 13 MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8 MP front camera, which has an enhanced 5MP sensor to click awesome selfies. The camera can also record high quality videos with 1080 p resolution.
Price – Rs. 11,350
The price may be on a bit higher side as compared to its predecessor models but considering its advanced features, it is quite a worthy buy.
