Domestic smartphone manufacturer Micromax has expanded its Bharat series with the launch of “Bharat 5 Pro” smartphone priced at Rs. 7,999.

Commenting on the launch, Shubhodip Pal- Chief Marketing and Chief Commercial Officer of Micromax Informatics said, “Our new addition to the successful Bharat range, the `Bharat 5 Pro` will surely offer a complete package to the consumers at a very affordable price.”

The phone will sport a 5.2-inch HD IPS display with resolution of 720×1280 pixels. It is powered by 1.3 GHz Quadcore processor coupled with 3GB RAM and 32GB inbuilt storage which can be expanded via microSD card. There’s a 13MP camera at the rear and a 5MP camera at front with LED flash. The highlight of Bharat 5 Pro is its massive 5,000mAh battery that the company claims to provide up to 2 days of usage and up to 3 weeks of standby time. The device also comes with Face Unlock feature.

Notably, Micromax launched the Bharat 5 Pro at the same time when Xiaomi launched its much-awaited Redmi 5 in India. The base variant of Redmi 5 i.e. 2GB RAM + 16GB ROM is also priced at Rs. 7,999.

There is no information yet about the availability of the device, however it is expected to go on sale online as well as offline soon.
