Chinese electronics giant Xiaomi launched Mi TV 4A series in India with two new models- 32-inch Mi TV 4A and 43-inch Mi TV 4A which are priced at Rs. 13,999 and Rs. 22,999 respectively. Both the TVs are Smart TVs that run on Android based PatchWall OS similar to company’s flagship Mi TV 4 model. The TVs will be exclusively sold via Flipkart.com, Mi.com and Mi Home stores from March 13 via flash sales held every week on Tuesdays and Fridays. The company is using the same aggressive pricing strategy that it uses to sell smartphones. In addition, the company is offering instant cashback of Rs. 2200 with a JioFi connection.

Xiaomi had launched its flagship Mi TV 4 in India on February 14 but the TV was out-of-stock in minutes during the flash sale due to limited stock. Company has promised adequate stock for the upcoming sales.

Features of 43-inch Mi TV 4A:

The 43-inch variant of Mi TV 4A comes with Full HD display having resolution of 1920×1080 pixel. The TV is powered by Amlogic T962 64-bit quad-core processor. It has a 60Hz screen refresh rate and comes with 1GB RAM and 8GB in-built storage which can be used to install apps. For connectivity purpose there 3 UDB ports, 3 HDMI ports, an Ethernet port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack with S/PDIF port. In terms of dimensions the TV measures 733 mm in length and 435 mm in height (without the stand). The base is 180 mm wide and the TV weighs around 3.9 kg (without the stand).

Features of 32-inch Mi TV 4A:

There is a lot of similarity between the features of two TVs. The 32-inch variant is also powered by same Amlogic T962 64-bit quad-core processor and comes with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal storage, 60Hz screen refresh rate, DTS Audio, 2×10 Watt dome speakers, 2 USB Ports, 3 HDMI ports, an Ethernet port, 3.5mm Audio Jack etc. The key difference is that the 32-inch variant is HD Ready with 1366×768 resolution. In terms of dimensions the TV measures 970 mm in length and 569 mm in height (without the stand). The base is 214 mm wide and the TV weighs around 7.37 kg (without the stand).

Both the 32-inch and 43-inch models come with a 11-button Mi Remote which can be used to control the set-top box as well using the Mi IR cable (cost- Rs. 299).

Xiaomi has partnered with several content partners to offer over 500,000 hours of content out of which 80% will be free. The list of partners includes Sony Liv, Hotstar, Voot, Voot Kids, ALT Balaji, Hungama Play, Sun NXT, Zee5, TVF, Viu and Flickstree. The content is supported in 15 languages whereas the Mi TV system supports 13 Indian languages like English, Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, Oriya, Kannada, Urdu, Malayalam and Assamese.

The company is sure to bring about a revolution in smart TV market with its pricing and add-on offerings just like it did in the smartphone market few years ago.
