China based smartphone maker Xiaomi has announced its latest smartphone dubbed as Mi Max 3 in its hometown today. The phone is successor of Mi Max 2 phablet and comes with significant enhancements as well as attractive price tag. The highlight of the device is its massive 5,500mAh capacity battery which has support for fast and parallel charging.

Mi Max 3 Price and Availability:

The Mi Max 3 base variant 4GB RAM + 64GB storage comes with a starting price of RMB 1,699 (approx. Rs. 17,200). The top variant with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage is priced at RMB 1,999 (roughly Rs. 20,350). It will go on sale in company’s hometown China from tomorrow i.e. July 20. There are three color options available for the buyers- Meteorite Black, Dream Gold and Dark Blue. There is no word yet on the availability of the phone outside of China. But the Mi Max series has a history of coming to India and thus the Max 3 is also expected to arrive in the country soon.

Mi Max 3 Design, Display, OS and Other Hardware Specifications:

The Mi Max 3 runs Android Oreo-based MIUI operating system out of the box and is backed by a massive 5,500mAh non-removable Li-Ion battery with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0 support. The battery also supports parallel charging i.e. you can continue to use the device even while charging continues in the background.

Under the hood, the Mi Max 3 is powered by a 1.8GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor along with Adreno 509 GPU and 4GB/6GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity of the device is 64GB and 128GB which can be extended further using a microSD card

The phone boasts full-metal body design and comes and on-screen keys for navigation. It bears a 6.9-inch full-HD+ IPS display with a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels and aspect ratio of 18:9. For security purpose, there’s a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and AI backed face unlock.

In the camera department, you get a vertically stacked dual camera set up comprising of 12-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.9 aperture and and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor with f/1.9 aperture. The camera set up also features LED flash for better low light photography. The front hosts an 8-megapixel selfie camera with soft LED flash.

Connectivity options included in Mi Max 3 are 4G, VoLTE support, GPS, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and a USB Type-C 1.0 reversible connector.
