After a series of leaks and rumors, Chinese handset maker Meizu has launched its latest flagships dubbed as Meizu 16 and Meizu 16 Plus in its hometown. Both the phones sport a nearly bezel-less design and feature in-display fingerprint sensors. The key difference in the two device is w.r.t. screen size and battery capacity. There are three memory variant options available of Meizu 16,

6GB RAM + 64GB Inbuilt Storage priced at RMB 2,698 (roughly Rs. 27,000 and $395)

6GB RAM + 128GB Inbuilt Storage priced at RMB 2,998 (roughly Rs. 30,000 and $440)

8GB RAM + 128GB Inbuilt Storage priced at RMB 3,298 (roughly Rs. 33,000 and $485)

There are two color options available for the buyers- Black and White.

Both the phones have gone on via all major retail outlets in China including Meizu mall, and the e-commerce giant JD.com.

The Meizu 16 sports a 6-inch AMOLED full-HD+ display with 1080×2160 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio resulting into 91.18 screen-to-body ratio. While the Meizu 16 sports a 6.5-inch AMOLED full-HD+ display with 1080×2160 pixels resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio resulting into 91.18 screen-to-body ratio.

The Meizu 16 is backed by a 3,010mAh battery which comes with fast charging support by means of the proprietary mCharge technology. Whereas, the Meizu 16 Plus is fueled by 3,640mAh battery with mCharge technology support.

In terms of dimensions, the Meizu 16 measures 160.4×78.2×7.3 mm and weighs in at 182 grams. While the Meizu 16 Plus measures 160.4×78.2×7.3 mm and weighs in at 182 grams.

Rest of the specifications of both the phones are identical. Both are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC along with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and Adreno 630 GPU for graphics. In terms of camera, there’s dual rear camera setup comprising of a 12-megapixel primary Sony IMX380 sensor along with a wide-angle lens + f/1.8 aperture and a 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 secondary sensor along with a telephoto lens + f/2.6 aperture. The rear camera setup features phase detection auto focus (PDAF). For selfies, the front hosts a 20-megapixel snapper with an f/2.0 aperture. The front camera also doubles up as Artifical Intelligence (AI) backed Face Unlock. Both the devices run Flyme OS based on Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box. Connectivity options include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, and USB Type-C.
