His first non-fiction book was ‘What Young India Wants’, comprising of his speeches and essays which talk about how the Indian youth is looking for love, a good job, and a progressive society.

Chetan Bhagat states that since the last three years a lot has changed politically; a new political party (Aam Aadmi Party) has been created, New Delhi has a new Chief Minister, and a new Prime Minister has taken the reigns of the country. However, the country isn’t changing as much as the citizens would have liked. Thus, through his writings, Bhagat endeavors to be the voice that helps bring about a change that makes the society and the country better in all respects.

Not new to writing, Chetan Bhagat has authored 6 fiction books so far: Five Point Someone, One Night @ Call Centre, 3 Mistakes of My Life, 2 States, Revolution 2020 , Half Girlfriend. Two of his books, ‘3 Mistakes of My Life’ and ‘2 States’, have been adapted into two highly successful Bollywood films, with one starring Aamir Khan, and the other featuring Arjun Kapoor with Alia Bhatt. He has also written the screenplay for movies like ‘Kai Po Che’, ‘Kick’, and ‘2 States’.
