LG Unveils Absurdly Expensive V30 Signature Edition Smartphoneby Ajinkya December 8, 2017
Samsung and Apple have raised the bar for have premium smartphones. LG has not met with much success over the years. But, it is hoping to turn the things around with its special edition V30.
As opposed to the regular V30, the V30 Signature Edition comes with zirconium ceramic back plate. It comes in Black and White. LG allows customers to have their names laser engraved on the phone. The original smartphone has a glass body. It’s not the first smartphone to feature ceramic though. Xiaomi used it on the Mi Mix. Much like the glass, ceramic is quite easy to break.
Currently, the phone will only be sold in South Korea. LG is making only 300 units of the Signature Edition V30. And if you are interested in owning this exquisite piece of machinery, you will have to shell out 2 million Won (approx. Rs 120,000). In comparison, the regular LG V30 sells for around $800 (Rs 51,500) in Korea. You do get a pair of Bang & Olufsen wired earphones and H5 Bluetooth earphones bundled with every purchase.
You are not going to want it for specifications. But, still LG has bumped the RAM from 4 GB to 6 GB. It comes with 256 GB expandable storage as standard. All the other features remain the same including a 6-inch P-OLED FullVision display and Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 835 SoC (System on Chip). You also get Bang and Olufsen developed audio DAC and a wide-angle dual-camera (16 MP and 13 MP sensors).
The LG V30 Signature Edition runs Android Oreo 8.0 out-of-the-box. The regular V30 is still stuck on Android Nougat.
