LG Q9 (South Korea)South Korean tech giant LG has unveiled its LG Q9 smartphone in South Korea which is simply a revamped version of company’s G7 Fit that was unveiled at IFA 2018 held in August. The LG Q9 isn’t an entirely new smartphone and is almost identical to the G7 Fit with minor changes. Some of the highlights of the device are Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 SoC, 16-6.1-inch quad HD FullVision display, Boombox speaker and a 3,000mAh battery.

LG Q9 Price and Availability Details

The LG Q9 is priced in South Korea at 499,400 won (roughly Rs. 31,000) and it will go on sale starting July this year. The phone will be available in three colour variants- Caramine Red, Aurora Red and Morocane Blue.

LG Q9 Features and Specifications

The LG Q9 bears a 6.1-inch quad QHD+ FullVision display with 564ppi of pixel density, an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a resolution of 3,120 x 1,440 pixels. The screen also features 1,000 nit daylight visibility mode and is also HDR10-enabled. The device draws power from Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 coupled with 4GB of RAM. The internal storage capacity of the phone is 64GB that is expandable via microSD card (up to 2TB). It runs Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. All of this is fueled by a 3,000mAh battery that comes with Qualcomm’s Quick Charge 3.0.

Unlike many other new-age smartphones, the LG Q9 doesn’t have a dual rear camera setup. It comes with a 16-megapixel rear sensor with an LED flash. On the front, there’s an 8-megapixel sensor for selfies and video calls. The front camera also comes with an AI face detection feature.

In terms of connectivity, the LG Q9 features Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, Micro-USB, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The phone also features a dedicated Google Assistant key. For security purpose, there’s a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The dimensions of the phone are 153.2 x 71.9 x 7.9 mm. The phone is IP68 certified for resistance against dust and water. It comes with MIL-STD-810G military grade certification.

In terms of the audio, the phone comes with Boom Box speakers and DTS:X Stereo speakers- a feature that was available in the LG G7+ ThinQ.
