LG Q7, Q7 Plus and Q7 Alpha Mid-range Trio with 5.5-inch Displays Announced

LG-Q7-TrioEarlier this month Korean tech giant LG launched G7 ThinQ flagship smartphone and now it has announced three new phones under the Q7 series- LG Q7, LG Q7+ and LG Q7 Alpha. The trio offers durable metal body which enables the device to withstand extreme weather conditions and the same is IP68 certified for water and dust resistance. The phones are functionally identical from the outside with a rounded bezel-less design.

LG Q7, Q7+, Q7 Alpha Specifications and Features:

All three phones feature 5.5-inch FHD+ FullVision LCD displays running a 2160 x 1080 resolution, tucked under 2.5D glass and tall aspect ratio of 18:9. The phones will be powered either by 1.5 GHz or 1.8 GHz processor, depending on the market.


The difference between the trio will be in terms of RAM, onboard storage and camera configurations. The Q7 and Q7 Alpha feature 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage, whereas the Q7+ features 4GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage. The storage can be expanded via microSD card. All three phones are backed by a 3,000mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support for fast charging. This is done over USB-C. They will come with Android 8.0 Oreo operating system out of the box. The connectivity options include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, NFC, Bluetooth 4.2, USB-C and GPS.

The fingerprint scanner is placed at the back and has multiple functionalities such as device unlocking, camera shutter key, controlling the notification bar and capturing screenshots.

In terms of camera, the Q7 and Q7 Aplha come with 13-megapixel rear camera. On the other hadn, the Q7 Plus features a 16-megapixel rear camera. On the front, the Q7 and Q7+ host a super wide-angle 8-megapixel selfie camera and the Q7 Alpha hosts a 5-megapixel selfie camera. Some of the common camera features in the Q7 trio are PDAF, QLens and Portrait mode.

The Q7 and Q7+ will be available in three color options- Aurora Black, Moroccan Blue and Lavender Violet. Whereas the Q7 Alpha will come in single color i.e. Moroccan Blue.

Overall, the Q7 is a good improvised version of last year’s Q6. The pricing details of the LG Q7 series are not yet revealed by the company but the phones will be available soon. LG reports that the European nations will be receiving the trio by the start of next month i.e. June. The phone will also be launched in North America, South America and Asia.
