LG Q60, K50 and K40 Mid-range Smartphones Announced Ahead of MWC 2019

South Korean tech giant LG has announced three new mid-range smartphones dubbed as LG Q60, LG K50 and LG K40. The announcement comes as a surprise as the company is holding an event during this year’s MWC which is scheduled for next week. However, the company will keep the three phones on display at MWC. The pricing and availability details of the phones have not yet been revealed and will be disclosed at different regions at a later date. All three phones support AI functions like AI Cam that recognises objects and recommends the ideal shooting mode for the best results. They are powered by octa-core CPUs clocked at 2.0 GHz, but exact chipsets haven’t been named. They also have a dedicated Google Assistant button.

LG Q60 Features and Specifications

LG Q60The LG Q60 is the premium of the three phones and it sports a 6.26-inch HD+ FullVision Display with 720 x 1520p pixel screen resolution and 19:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with a waterdrop shaped notch at the top which houses the selfie camera. In terms of memory, there’s 3GB of RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage with microSD card for expansion. In terms of optics, there’s a triple rear camera set up on the back consisting of a 16MP main shooter + 2MP depth sensor + a 5MP ultra-wide angle lens. For selfies, there’s a 13MP front unit. All of this is backed by a 3,500mAh capacity battery. For security purpose, the phone features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor. The dimensions of the phone are 161.3 x 77 x 8.7 mm.

LG K50 Features and Specifications

LG K50The LG K50 comes also comes equipped with the same 6.26-inch panel featuring a camera cutout and HD+ (720 x 1520 px) resolution along with 19:9 aspect ratio. There’s 3GB of RAM and 32GB of inbuilt storage with an option to expand the same up to 2TB via microSD card. The phone gets a dual rear camera set up instead of triple which comprises of a 13-megapixel primary sensor with PDAF + a 2-megapixel secondary depth sensor. There’s a 13-megapixel sensor on the front for selfies and video calls. LG K50 also features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor for security purpose. In terms of dimensions, it measures 161.3 x 77 x 8.7 mm. The battery capacity of the device is same as LG Q60 i.e. 3,500mAh.

LG K40 Features and Specifications

LG K40The LG K40 is the cheapest of the three phones and it bears 5.7-inch display panel with a 720 x 1440 pixel screen resolution. However, there’s no notch at the top like the other two devices. Memory configuration of the device is 2GB RAM + 32GB internal storage, while the camera configuration is 16MP rear camera + 8MP front camera with LED flash. The battery capacity of the device is also low i.e. 3,000mAh instead of 3,500mAh as seen on LG Q60 and LG K50.
