LG Launches A Phone With Mosquito Repellent Feature In Indiaby Ajinkya September 28, 2017
The Korean smartphone manufacturer LG has been known for adding mosquito repellent in its appliances such as ACs. This time around, it has gone a step further by embedding it in a smartphone. The device is named LG K7i, but we like to call it the ‘Mosquito Phone’.
The handphone comes with a bundled snap-on panel, which houses a 30 KHz ultrasonic speaker to repel the mosquitoes. The ultrasonic sound of this frequency is inaudible and claimed to be harmless to humans. There are no chemicals involved as the technology is based on a mechanical speaker. It also comes with a stand on which the phone can be placed to perform for better results.
The LG K7i is priced at an affordable Rs 7,990 and will be available across all retail outlets shortly. As for the specifications this smartphone, it sports a 5-inch FWVGA screen with 854×480 pixels. It is powered by an unspecified quad-core chip clocked at 1.1 GHz. You get 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of internal storage. You can add more storage via a microSD card slot.
The dual-SIM handset is 4G VoLTE compatible. For the shutterbugs, the LG K7i comes with an 8 MP rear camera and 5 MP selfie shooter.
On the connectivity front, it has Bluetooth v4.1, Wi-Fi, FM radio, 3.5 mm audio jack, and microUSB covered. The phone runs Android Marshmallow and sips energy from a 2500 mAh battery.
