LG Launched Its All-New LG K42 With MediaTek SoC And Military-Grade Build

A range of smartphones are being launched these days and LG has joined the lot. The South Korean tech mogul has revealed its new LG K42 in the Indian market. The smartphone debuted in the European markets in September 2020. However, the device launched here is identical to its European fellow.

A few highlights:

  • LG K42 sports MediaTek’s Helio P22 SoC.
  • For durability, LG has used MIL-STD 810G body. The smartphone can sustain extreme conditions.
  • There will be a separate button to trigger Google Assistant.

Though it comes with such high durability, all thanks to MIL-STD 810G build, LG K42 will be available just under the ₹11,000 mark. With a quad-camera system, the smartphone offers a punch-hole cutout for selfie snapper.

LG K42: Key specs & features

Once unboxed, LG K42 will greet you with a 6.5” punch-hole display with HD+ resolution. On the side, the smartphone sports a dedicated button for Google Assistant, and users will get a fingerprint scanner integrated with the power button. With a strip design on the rear, LG is offering a UV coating that will resist scratches.

 

One of the USPs that LG has on this smartphone is its sturdy build that can sustain extreme weather such as high/low temperatures along with shock, fall, etc. Coming to the optics, the quad-camera array is home to a 13MP primary lens paired with a 5MP ultra-wide sensor. The rest two will be 2MP depth and macro sensors. The punch-hole cutout present on the top-center will house an 8MP selfie-snapper.

 

At its core, LG K42 sports MediaTek Helio P22 chipset on 3 gigs of RAM. The onboard storage that LG is offering is 64GB which can also be further expanded using the microSD card slot. The whole package will fetch power from a big 4,000 mAh battery. With LG’s custom LG UX on the top, K42 will boot on Android 10.

 

Other connectivity features are Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.0, USB Type-C port, and GPS.

Pricing and availability

LG’s K42 will be available in two color options, Green and Gray. The smartphone will retail at a price of ₹10,990. It will be sold via Flipkart, Jan 26 onwards. In introductory offers, LG is offering 2 years of continued warranty and one-time screen replacement in case of physical damage.
