The unique selling point of the phone is its curved design. Not only the screen looks more attractive, it’s also better to hold on to and talk on. It ends more naturally from ear to mouth, giving you a better conversation experience. The phone is thin. Its dimensions are 160.5×81.6×7.9/8.7 mm. The thickness gradient comes because of the curved designed of the screen. The buttons are placed on the back rather than on the side. Along with this there’s a self-healing back cover. So, it will recover from reasonably light scratches within minutes.
G Flex has a 6 inch P-OLED display. The display is stylishly curved. It offers resolution of 1280-by-720 pixels allowing you to enjoy 720p videos on the device. The big display can be used for a number of purposes and with the curved appearance it is all the more comfortable to use it.
Processor and Memory
The phone comes with 2.26 GHz quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. Along with this there is an Adreno 330 for graphics. Then there’s 2 GB of RAM to support these processors. There’s a 32 GB internal memory. The phone comes in a unibody design and hence does not offer a special slot to insert and use the microSD cards for extra memory.
The phone comes with a 13 MP rear shooter, with LED and autofocus along with a front camera with 2.1 MP sensor. The camera suite is quite impressive.
G Flex supports high speed HSDPA+ data standard. Along with this there’s support for dual band WiFi, 802.11 ac. G Flex also comes with NFC which is becoming all the more ubiquitous these days. G Flex is thus a complete as far as connectivity goes.
OS and features
G Flex comes loaded with Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean. LG has its own UI over it and has some neat features packed into it. The KnockOn, in which you can double tap the screen to wake it up is a carryover from the previous phones. The notification LED flashes red if there are more than one missed called from the same number. These are just few of the many other features which you can find in the phone.
LG G Flex announcement isn’t complete. There are still speculations regarding when and at what price that phone would be launched in the international market. With such specs and the curved screen feature, that phone is likely to cost approx. Rs 50000. On the overall, the LG G Flex should be a great phone to use offering a combination of style, comfort and power.
