Lenovo is known to launch innovative smartphones. The company had teased one of its flagships for 2019 dubbed as Lenovo Z6 Pro during Mobile World Congress (MWC) held at Barcelona (Spain). The company did not launch the phone but just mentioned that it will be launched soon and now the company’s Group Vice President VP Chang Cheng has announced that the device will be unveiled on March 27. The announcement was done via Weibo, which is a Chinese social networking site.

Lenovo Z6 Pro Teaser

Based on the teaser, the highlight of the Lenovo Z6 Pro will be its camera capabilities with the Hyper Vision sensor which promises to be a leap forward in image and video quality. Unfortunately, there is still no clear indication what’s so Hyper about it.

In addition, the phone could also sport 5G connectivity by using Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC along with Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Lenovo has announced partnership with China Unicom for 5G support on its smartphones. The phone will go on sale in June, when 5G support is expected to become available in the country. There’s also a possibility that the company will launch a non-5G (4G) variant of the phone this month while the 5G model will be launched in June. To recall, last year’s Lenovo Z5 Pro featured the Snapdragon 710, while the Z5 Pro GT was the first phone with 5G support. The Lenovo Z6 Pro is expected to feature up to 12GB RAM.

Lenovo has made tall claims in the past before the launch of its smartphones, but has not necessarily delivered on those promises. We hope the company lives up to the promises and expectations this time around. Stay tuned for further updates!
