Lenovo Z5s and Lenovo Z5 Pro Launched in China: Check Features and Specifications

After several rounds of leaks and rumours, Lenovo has finally launched its Lenovo Z5s and Lenovo Z5 Pro smartphones at an event held in China today. The Lenovo Z5s comes with water-drop notch and triple rear camera set up, while Lenovo Z5 Pro is World’s first smartphone to feature Qualcomm’s 7nm Snapdragon 855 chipset along with 12GB of RAM.

Lenovo Z5s Price

The Lenovo Z5s is priced in China at RMB 1,398 which is roughly Rs. 15,000 for the base variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB storage, while the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage valiant is priced at RMB 1,598 which is roughly Rs. 17,000. The top-end model i.e. 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at RMB 1,898 which is roughly Rs. 20,000. In addition, there’s a Zhuhai Yilong special edition that will come with a price tag of RMB 1,998 which is roughly Rs. 23,000. The phone will go on sale in China starting from December 24th. There will be three colour options available for the buyers- Honey Orange, Gray Titanium and Crystal Blue.

The Lenovo Z5 Pro Price

The Lenovo Z5 Pro comes in four memory configurations:

6GB RAM + 128GB Storage Priced at RMB 2,698

8GB RAM + 128GB Storage Priced at RMB 2,998

8GB RAM + 256GB Storage Priced at RMB 3,998

12GB RAM + 512GB Storage Priced at RMB 4,398

The pre-orders for the phone will start from January 15th and the sale will begin from January 24th.

Lenovo Z5s Features and Specifications

The Lenovo Z5s sports a 6.39-inch display with Full HD+ resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9, which results into impressive screen-to-body ratio of 92.6 percent, thanks to the ultra-slim bezels and water drop shaped notch. The handset features 6000-series aluminum frame along with Corning Gorilla glass rear shell and comes with P2i splash-resistant coating. Under the hood, the device draws power from Snapdragon 710 chipset along with 4GB or 6GB of RAM, Adreno 616 GPU and Game Turbo. There are two options in terms of inbuilt storage- 64GB and 128GB. There is a microSD card slot on the device for additional storage (up to 256GB).

In terms of optics, you get a vertically stacked triple camera set up on the back which comprises of an AI-backed 16-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture + an 8-megapixel secondary sensor with f/2.4 aperture and 2x Zoom + a 5-megapixel depth-sensing shooter with f/2.4 aperture. The front hosts a 16-megapixel snapper for selfies and video calls. The device runs Android 9 Pie-based Lenovo’s ZUI launcher out of the box and is backed by a 3,300mAh capacity battery with 18W fast-charging support. Connectivity options included in the Lenovo Z5s are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 3.5mm headphone jack, GPS, and USB Type-C port. In terms of dimensions, the phone measures 156.7 x 74.5 x 7.85 mm and weighs about 172 grams. For security purpose, the phone features a rear mounted fingerprint sensor.

The Lenovo Z5 Pro flaunts a 6.39-inch AMOLED bezel-less display with FHD+ resolution. In the camera department, you get a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 16-megapixel primary Sony IMX519 sensor with f/1.8-2.6 variable aperture + a 24-megapixel secondary Sony IMX576 sensor with 6MP Largan-branded lens and f/1.8-2.8 variable aperture. For selfies, there’s a 16-megapixel + 8-megapixel dual camera set up, which can be activated by the slide-out front camera mechanism.
