Lenovo Unveils ThinkPad Laptops Priced Rs. 54,000 Onwards

Lenovo, the Chinese technology multinational, has added to its range of notebooks in India by launching the ThinkPad X1. The company has also launched new models of the ThinkPad namely the ThinkPadT, ThinkPad X, and ThinkPad L series.

Among the new range, the ThinkPad X1 Carbon starts at a price of Rs. 1,21,000, ThinkPad X1 Yoga is priced at Rs. 1,26,000, ThinkPad X280 is at Rs. 73,000, ThinkPad X380 Yoga at Rs. 87,000, ThinkPad T480 at Rs. 69,000, ThinkPad T480s at Rs. 86,000, ThinkPad T580 at Rs. 74,000, ThinkPad L380 Yoga at Rs. 65,000, ThinkPad L380 at Rs. 61,000, ThinkPad L480 at Rs. 54,000, and ThinkPad L580 at Rs. 55,000. The entire range will be available in the market from this month onwards.

The Thinkpad was unveiled at CES 2018 in Barcelona. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon, as the company has claimed, is the world’s lightest 14-inch business laptop. It is equipped with a lightweight chassis as it has been designed using the latest and advanced carbon fibre technology. The range of display options that the notebook users can enjoy are full-HD IPS to full-HD IPS with touch, and WQHD IPS to WQHD IPS HDR with Dolby Vision. The ThinkPads run on eighth-generation Core processors (up to Intel Core i7 with vPro), combined with Intel UHD 620 graphics and up to 16GB of LPDDR3 RAM. It comes with up to 1TB of PCIe SSD storage. Lenovo has empowered the users with a ThinkShutter Camera Privacy physical webcam cover on top of a 720p HD camera, and an IR camera is available with eye-tracking and facial recognition features. The ThinkPad X1 Carbon can seamlessly connect to Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, two USB 3.0, two Intel Thunderbolt 3 ports, a headphone and microphone combo jack, 3-in-1 microSD card readers, HDMI port, and a docking connectivity for native Ethernet support. Its 57Wh integrated battery can deliver nearly 19.3 hours of usage and supports RapidCharge technology.

The ThinkPad X1 Yoga boasts of Intel Core i7 with vPro processors and the Dolby Vision HDR display. It has a 360-degree hinge to makes it convertible. RAM, storage, and connectivity options on the new ThinkPad X1 Yoga are same as that of ThinkPad X1 Carbon. Its 54Wh battery can deliver about 15 hours of usage in a single charge.

Other than the top-end models, Lenovo has also launched the ThinkPad X280 and ThinkPad X380 Yoga. The ThinkPad X280 comes with a 12.5-inch display and options including HD, TN, FHD, IPS, and FHD IPS touch. It is powered by Intel Core i7 with vPro, along with a 16GB DDR4 RAM and 1TB PCIe SSD. Other desirable features of this notebook include its Dolby Premium Audio and a 720p HD camera – with an option for IR Camera and ThinkShutter cover. The ThinkPad X280 boasts of Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, two USB 3.0, a USB Type-C, Intel Thunderbolt 3, HDMI, RJ45 connector, and a headphone and microphone combo jack as its connectivity options. The X280 weighs 2.5 pounds and is around 17.4mm sleek. Its battery lasts up to 16.6 hours in a single charge.

The ThinkPad X380 Yoga features a 13.3-inch FHD IPS display with touch support. Its 51Wh battery can enable users to work on the notebook uninterruptedly for around 13.6 hours after a single charge supported by RapidCharge technology. Its processor, RAM, storage, and connectivity are identical to the ThinkPad X280. The company has also provided the users of this notebook with an Active Pen, an IR camera, and Windows Hello support.

As for the Lenovo ThinkPad T480, ThinkPad T480s, and ThinkPad T580, these notebooks have an optional discrete graphics power and its battery can run for nearly 27 hours based on a single charge.

The ThinkPad T480 has a 14-inch display in HD TN and FHD IPS touch options. It is powered with Intel Core i7 processors with vPro, paired with Intel UHD 620 or Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics and up to 32GB 2DIMM 2400MHz DDR4 RAM. The notebook comes with a premium storage option of up to 1TB OPAL 2 M.2 SSD.

The ThinkPad T480s and ThinkPad T580 possesses a 15-inch display panel with options such as HD TN, FHD IPS, and FHD IPS touch. The ThinkPad T480s comes with around 24GB of DDR4 RAM, 1TB SSD PCIe SSD, Intel UHD Graphics 620 or Nvidia GeForce MX150. The ThinkPad T580 boasts of up to 32GB 2DIMM DDR4 RAM and up to 2TB HDD or 1TB PCIe SSD. All three ThinkPad notebooks under the T Series have Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, Intel Thunderbolt 3, USB Type-C, USB 3.0, HDMI, headphone and microphone combo jack, and a 4-in-1 microSD card reader.

The Lenovo ThinkPad L380, ThinkPad L380 Yoga, ThinkPad L480, and ThinkPad L580 are designed to be excellent for business use. The ThinkPad L380 and ThinkPad L380 Yoga has a 13.3-inch display panel in HD TN, FHD IPS, and FHD IPS touch options. When compared to these, the ThinkPad L480 and ThinkPad L580 have 14-inch and 15-inch display panels. All the notebooks in the new L series have up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM and 512GB PCIe SSD.

The ThinkPad L580 can also use AMD Radeon 530 graphics in addition to Intel UHD 620 graphics. It can seamlessly connect to Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.1, USB Type-C, USB 3.0, 3-in-1 microSD card reader, HDMI 1.4, NFC, RJ45, and a headphone and microphone combo jack. The new L series notebook users can enjoy up to 12 hours of battery in a single charge. The ThinkPad L380 seems to be an exception as it can deliver 16.1 hours of charge using its 45Wh battery.
