Lenovo S5 Pro GT with Upgraded Snapdragon 660 SoC Launched

Recently we reported that Lenovo launched Lenovo Z5s and Lenovo Z5 Pro smartphones at an event held in China. Alongside the same, the company also launched the Lenovo S5 Pro GT. The phone is an upgraded version of the Lenovo S5 Pro that was launched a couple of months ago. The key difference is that the Lenovo S5 Pro GT is powered by a Snapdragon 660 processor instead of the Snapdragon 636 processor seen on the base variant.

Lenovo S5 Pro GT Price and Availability

The Lenovo S5 Pro GT is priced in China at CNY 1,198 which is roughly Rs. 12,100 for the base variant i.e. 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and CNY 1,298 which is roughly Rs. 13,100 for the top variant i.e. 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. The pre-orders for the phone have already started and the sale will start from December 24. There are three colour options available for the interested buyers-Jing Yao Black, Pure Gold, and Ice Blue.

Lenovo S5 Pro GT Features and Specifications

The Lenovo S5 Pro GT sports a 6.2-inch full-HD+ display along with 1080×2246 pixel screen resolution and an 18.7:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with a notch at the top that houses selfie camera along with other sensors. Powering the device is an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC. There are two options in terms of memory- 4GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 64GB storage. The dual-SIM phone (Nano + Nano/ microSD) runs on ZUI 10 based on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system and is backed by 3,500mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging over USB-C.

In terms of camera, the phone has a dual camera setup at the back that comprises a 20-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.8 aperture and a 12-megapixel secondary sensor along with an f/2.6 aperture. For selfies, there is a dual camera setup on the front that consists of a 20-megapixel primary sensor along with an f/2.2 aperture and an 8-megapixel secondary infrared camera for 3D face scanning and effects.

In terms of dimensions, the Lenovo S5 Pro GT measures 154.5×75.45×7.7 mm and weighs about 170 grams. Connectivity options provided with the device are 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. The onboard sensors include ambient light, electronic compass, fingerprint sensor, gravity, and a proximity sensor.
