Lenovo K6 Power VS Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime; which one would you pick?by Sayli Jadhav November 30, 2016
It’s like one of those formula one races with each mobile phone giant trying to outdo the other at a better price or with smarter features. Xiaomi launched its Redmi 3S Prime earlier in August this year. This flagship product from the Chinese company is in competition against the recently launched Lenovo K6 Power. Both these smartphones lie in the below 10,000 INR range.
Let’s look at a comparison between the two.
The Lenovo K6 Power has a 5-inch display, similar to the 3S prime. However, the Prime comes with a resolution of only 1280 x 720 while the K6 Power is indeed powerful with a 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution.
What’s on the inside?
Both the K6 Power and the 3S Prime come backed with the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor and an Adreno 505 GPU. The internal memory capacity is 32 GB while it can be expanded up to a 128 GB for both these smartphones. The Xiomi similar to its other family members uses the second SIM card slot for an SD card making it inconvenient for a dual SIM user. The 3S Prime makes use of the Micro SIM while the K6 Power accepts a smaller Nano SIM version. The RAM for both these devices is 3 GB. The OS for the two is the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow version.
Another important deciding factor while buying a phone these days is the camera quality. You wouldn’t want to compromise on that for sure. The rear camera is similar for both these. While the rear camera is a 13 MP, the front camera on the Xiaomi 3S Prime is 5 MP with f/2.2 but, the Lenovo K6 Power may offer some amazing selfies with its 8 Megapixel front camera. It also comes with additional features such as a Sony IMX256 Sensor, Time Lapse, Geo-tagging and a slow motion mode as well.
The Lenovo k6 Power is supposed to have its name after its powerful battery life with a 4000 mAh battery with a fast charging feature. The Xiaomi 3S Prime does compete with it, or even beats the Powerful K6 Power down with its 4100 mAh battery.
Both these phones are similar looking. Trapped in a metal unibody you will find the fingerprint scanner on the rear. The phones are available in Silver, Gold and Dark Grey. The UI run on these devices is different. You will find the standard Xiaomi MIUI 7 on the 3S Prime while the K6 Power runs its VIBE Pure UI.
While both these smartphones are neck to neck with their features the price could make a huge difference for the consumers. The Redmi 3S Prime is priced at Rs. 8, 999 while the Lenovo K6 Power would cost you Rs. 9,999. Considering the additional features and the VR support offered by the Lenovo K6 Power could make it a new favourite, at least until Xiaomi makes another power packed phone!
