The Ideapad Y900 will be powered by a 6th Gen Intel Core i7 processor, one of Intel’s best. That’s not all; the Y900 will come with a capacity for up to a whopping 64GB of RAM! Now if that isn’t enough power to “ram” into a game, then I don’t know what is! With such a processor and system memory, the gamer will experience lag free task switching and seamless gaming. Lenovo has attempted to redefine ‘Turbo’ with the inclusion of a Turbo key which, according to reports, will give the computer an instant performance boost by means of an enhanced memory, graphics, and processing power.
When it comes to the graphics processing unit, Lenovo hasn’t left any tables unturned; the Y900 packs in an NVIDIA GPU, with GeForce 980M for stunning graphics.

If it involves gaming, then the screen is without doubt, one of the most important features of the laptop, right? Understanding this, the Ideapad Y900 sports a 17.3” IPS Anti-glare screen with a display resolution of 1920×1080p. Your video game’s stunning graphics will take on a whole new dimension to this screen. What’s gaming if you can’t hear the firepower burst when you shoot? Or the engines roar as you start a race? To do justice to the sounds in the game, the laptop is equipped with 2 x 2.0w JBL speakers along with 3.0w subwoofer with Dolby Home Theater system.
The laptop is a tad heavy, and its dimensions read 425.4mm x 15.2mm x < 35.9mm, making it a slightly bulky laptop; but hey, when the laptop packs in a fantastic hardware, it’s bound to show! Coming to the storage, the laptop comes with up to 1TB of HDD or 512GB of SSD memory. To make things interesting, the laptop has a programmable colour backlit keyboard as well as a colourful highlighted touchpad. So even if you’re up gaming late into the night, you can have colours for company!
The Ideapad Y900 runs on the latest Windows 10 platform, and has a battery life of about 5 hours on a full charge. It incorporates quite a number of ports such including 3 USB 3.0, 1 USB 2.0, 1 USB Type C, an Audio Jack, a Mic Jack, an HDMI 2.0 port, and a 4-in-1 card reader. It also has a 720p inbuilt camera.
The Chinese electronics giant does already have an interesting range of gaming laptops, but this one will definitely prove to be the king with its killer specs and #ScienceOfCool. Yep, that’s Lenovo’s call-to-action in its press invites dated to the 8th of this month, in Delhi.
Promising an amazing set of specs on the gaming laptop, Lenovo is surely looking to get its “game on” with its Ideapad Y900, breaking its image as only a producer of everyday use based laptops.
