LeEco launches its Superphone Trio – Le 2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2

LeEco recently launched three of its second generation super-phones in China. Called Le2, Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2. The Le 2s and Le 2 pro look very similar to their earlier versions Le 1s and Le Max, build with a similar design the new phone also employ metal body and have chamfered edges. The phone sports antenna cuts on the top and bottom on the rear side, a camera at the centre. The phones are also equipped with fingerprint scanner making sure your device is safe and cannot be unlocked in the wrong hands.

Display and design

The phones lack a 3.5 mm jack which might become an issue with customers. It offers its own USB Type C audio cable. The Le 2 and Le 2 Pro have a 5.5-inch display while the Le Max 2 has a bigger 5.7 inch screen. With full HD display on the Le 2 and Le 2 Pro, and a QHD sports quality display for the Le Max 2, you don’t really have much to complain about. Watch movies or play games, with a better screen to body ratio the phones are all set to woo you just by the looks of it.

RAM and Storage

The Le 2 has a 3 GB RAM and a 32 GB internal storage capacity while the Pro version comes with a 4 GB RAM and an option between 32 or 64 GB storage. The Le Max 2 comes in two variants, the 4 GB RAM with 32 GB internal storage, or the powerful 6 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. The phones lack any external storage options so let’s hope you won’t run out of storage space. The phones have basic connectivity options with dual SIM slots.

Operating system

The phones are powered by Android 6.0 Marshmallow and LeEco’s eUI. Exciting news for customers at the launch was the multi-stream feature, allowing you to stream 9 live TV casts on the screen. Although the Indian versions do not have this feature yet, there are partnerships announced with providers like YuppTV and ErosNow.

Camera

For all those who are crazy about clicking selfies and for those who will soon catch up, the phones come with an 8 MP front camera. While the rear one for the Le 2 is a 12 MP and that for the Le 2 Pro and Le Max 2 is a 21 MP, making sure you capture every precious moment! The phone uses Sony sensors with f/2.0 aperture on its rear cameras.

Battery

With a powerful 3000 mAH battery for the Le 2 and Pro version that supports USB Type C speedy charging feature and a 3100 mAH for the Le Max 2 supports both the fast charging feature as well as QuickCharge 3.0; you could forget about your charger for the whole day!

The phones are priced in the 11,000-25,000 INR range making them affordable and attractive for most of its customers. Just make sure you check the reviews before getting your hands on one of these, and if you intend to get one of them soon, don’t invest in earphones with a 3.5mm jack. It’ll probably make you upset every time you can’t use them.
