Once, a key player in the Indian smartphone market, Intex hasn’t been doing great in a last year or two. That, however, hasn’t deterred the domestic manufacturer from rolling out new devices. The company added a new phone to its Aqua series. Called the Aqua 5.5 VR+, the phone comes with a free VR (virtual Reality) headset.
Don’t expect the VR experience to be immersive though, as the phone’s screen only packs HD resolution. To be precise, 1280 x 720 pixels in a 5.5-inch screen is quite disappointing. Especially, in the VR mode when the screen is an inch away from your eyes.
The Aqua 5.5 VR+ is powered by MediaTek MT6737V chipset clocked at 1.2 GHz. For gaming and multitasking, the phone relies on Mali-T720 GPU and 2 GB RAM. This surely doesn’t sound enough for VR applications. The phone has 16 GB internal storage, and a microSD card slot.
The phone sports an 8 MP camera with dual LED flash. For selfies, there’s a 5 MP front camera. The dual-SIM phone supports 4G VoLTE. It has got a 2800 mAh battery. On the software front, it runs Android 7 out-of-the-box.
The Intex Aqua 5.5 VR+ is priced at Rs. 5,799. Available in Champagne colour, the phone is exclusively available from Flipkart.com
