infinix-note-5Last month, Transsion Holdings-headed Infinix launched a budget smartphone in Indian market dubbed as Infinix Smart 2 and now company has extended its portfolio with the launch of Infinix Note 5. The phone is successor to Infinix Note 4 which was launched in India last year. The highlight of the device is that it’s an Android One powered device, making it the first by Infinix to do so.

Infinix Note 5 Price and Availability in India:

The base variant of Infinix Note 5 i.e. 3GB RAM + 32GB onboard storage is priced at Rs. 9999, while the top variant with 4GB RAM + 64GB onboard storage will retail at Rs. 11,999. The phone will go on sale via eCommerce giant Flipkart.com from August 31 at 12 noon. It will be available in three colors- Milan Black, Berlin Gray and Ice Blue.

Infinix Note 5 Software and Hardware Configurations:

The Infinix Note 5 sports a 5.99-inch FHD+ display with 2160 x 1080 pixel resolution and 18:9 aspect ratio resulting into 85 per cent screen-to-body ratio. The display has a 2.5D curved glass layer on top. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a MediaTek Helio P23 octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2Ghz along with 3GB or 4GB of RAM. There are two options in terms of inbuilt storage- 32GB and 64GB. The storage can be expanded further up to 128GB using a microSD card. As mentioned earlier it is an Android One handset, will run a stock version of Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. Being an Android one device, it is expected to get Android 9 Pie update sooner than other Android handsets. The battery capacity of the device is impressive at 4500mAh and it comes with AI power management. The battery also has support for fast charging which can deliver one full day battery life in just 30 min of charge, as claimed by Infinix. For security purpose, the phone features a circular shaped fingerprint sensor placed on the back which can unlock the phone in just 0.2 seconds.

In terms of optics, you get a 12MP rear camera with dual-LED flash and aperture value of f/2.0. The rear camera features Portrait mode and some other AI-based features. For selfies, there is a 16MP front-facing camera with a f/2.0 aperture. The front camera is also AI backed and features AI bokeh as well as AI beauty mode. The phone is capable of capturing clear and detailed pictures even in low-light conditions, as claimed by the company.

Overall, the Infinix Note 5 has significant improvements over its predecessor Infinix Note 4. Considering the specs and pricing, the Infinix Note 5 is expected to compete against the likes of Honor 9 Lite and the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5.
