Chinese BBK Electronics is holding its ground in the offline segment through Oppo and Vivo. Another Chinese brand Xiaomi is enjoying success in both online and offline channels. One Plus has carved its niche by providing flagship features and hardware at competitive pricing. And now a new brand Infinix headquartered in China has forayed in our country. Owned by Transsion Holdings, this brand is fighting for its share of the growing Indian smartphone market. It already debuted a couple of smartphones back in August. Expanding its portfolio, Infinix has now rolled out Zero 5 in India.
The Zero 5 has a unibody metal design and sports a 6-inch Full HD IPS screen. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass protection. The phone has quite a large footprint, as it sticks with the conventional form factor with thick bezels. The back of the phone is reminiscent of Huawei phones. The feature a dual camera in 12 MP + 13 MP configuration. The camera offers 2x optical zoom. For selfie loving millennials, the company has opted for a 16 MP shooter with an LED flash. While the camera specs look impressive, the chipset remains its sore point as Infinix has gone with MediaTek Helio P25 chipset. We would have preferred a Qualcomm SoC. The fingerprint sensor is placed at the back of the device. It gets dedicated dual SIM slots along with a microSD card slot and a 4350mAh battery with support for xCharge 18W fast charging.
The company is selling the phone in two variants. The Zero 5 comes with 64 GB storage, whereas the Zero 5 Pro offers 128 GB storage. Available in Champagne Gold and Bordeaux Red, the Infinix Zero 5 is priced at Rs 17,999. The Infinix Zero 5 Pro with 128GB storage costs Rs 19,999, and will only come in Sandstone Black. Both the handsets will be sold exclusively on Flipkart starting from November 22 at 12 noon.
