Vivo has been splurging money on marketing in India. Be it metros or towns, Vivo banners are everywhere. The Chinese brand has already established itself as a brand to go for in the mid-range segment. However, it hasn’t really cracked the premium smartphone market outside China.Â
That may change in coming months, as the company is preparing to launch the Xplay 7 with interesting hardware. Thanks to Weibo user“熊本科技” , we have a first look at Vivo’s next flagship handset. Going by the images, the phone sports a tall design with fancy curved edges. It is likely to be the first handset to feature on screen fingerprint sensor. Unless of course, LG or Samsung reveal this technology in a next couple of months.
According to another source, the device is likely to sport a 5.7-inch QHD OLED screen. For those not in the know, OLED panels are known for its vibrant colours and deep blacks. These are mostly seen on high-end Samsung phones such as Galaxy S7 and S8.
It is speculated that the Xplay 7 will be powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 935 chipset. It may pack-in 6 GB RAM and 128 GB internal storage. The phone will be officially unveiled in November.
