The Huawei P30 Lite starting price in India is set at Rs. 19,990 which is for the base model with 4GB RAM + 128GB storage. The top model i.e. 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage is priced at Rs. 22,990. The Vivo V15 gets a price tag of Rs. 23,990. It comes in three colour variants including Royal Blue, Frozen Black and Glamour Red and has gradient finish. The Samsung Galaxy A50 is priced at Rs. 19,990 for 4GB RAM + 64GB inbuilt storage variant and Rs. 22,990 for 6GB/64GB variant, the phone is available in Black, White and Blue colours. In, terms of pricing the Huawei P30 Lite seems to be a better priced device as compared to the other two considering the memory variant options. However, lets compare the specs to find out if it provides the value for user’s money.

The Huawei P30 Lite looks similar to the P30 flagship in terms of design, but the hardware has been toned down. On the outside, you get a 6.15-inch FHD+ (2312×1080) LCD display rather than an OLED display. The display comes with a tiny waterdrop shaped notch at the top that houses the selfie camera. The phone features a gradient glass back design along with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Vivo V15 comes equipped with a 6.53 Ultra FullView Display with screen resolution of 1080×2340 pixels and an aspect ratio of 19.5:9. The screen of the phone is protected with 2.5D glass, Fifth-generation Corning Gorilla Glass. In terms of design, the phone looks premium due to the gradient finish and pop-up selfie camera.
As mentioned earlier, the Galaxy A50 is the higher end smartphone with premium features onboard. It bears a 6.4-inch Full HD+ Super AMOLED Infinity-U display with 1080×2340 pixel screen resolution and a high screen to body ratio of 91.6 per cent.
In terms of quality, the Galaxy A50 gets an upper hand due to its AMOLED panel. But those who hate notch, Vivo V15 will provide a completely unobstructed viewing experience due to its pop-up selfie camera mechanism.
In terms of dimensions, the Huawei P30 Lite measures 152.9 x 72.7 x 7.4 mm and weighs in at 159 grams. The Vivo V15 has dimensions of 161.2 x 75.9 x 8.5 mm and weight of 189.5 grams, while the Galaxy A50 158.5 x 74.7 x 7.7 mm and it weighs in at 166 grams.

The Huawei P30 Lite draws its power from Kirin 710 SoC that is paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The Vivo V15 is powered by MediaTek P70 processor. In terms of memory, there’s 6GB RAM and 64GB of inbuilt storage which can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. Whereas the Galaxy A50 gets its power from Exynos 9610 chipset and comes with up to 6GB RAM. The internal storage capacity of the phone is 64GB which is expandable up to 512GB via microSD.
In terms of performance, all three chipsets are almost at par with each other and thus there is no clear winner in this department.

The Huawei P30 Lite runs on Google’s latest Android 9.0 Pie operating system out of the box with EMUI 9.1 on top. The Vivo V15 is shipped with Android 9.0 Pie based on Funtouch OS 9, while the Galaxy A50 is shipped with Android 9 Pie-based Samsung’s OneUI out of the box. In our view, P30 Lite is the winner in terms of software due to its EMUI 9.0 as Vivo V15’s Funtouch 9 is relatively heavy with bloatware, while the Galaxy A50 has optimization issue with its OneUI. The phone also has Samsung’s Bixby AI vision feature.

The Huawei P30 Lite houses a 3,340mAh capacity battery with 18-watt charging, USB-C connectivity, and GPU Turbo 2.0 support which offers a better processing and enhanced battery performance when playing compatible games. The Vivo V15 is backed by a 4,000mAh battery with Vivo’s Dual-Engine Fast Charging support and Samsung Galaxy A50 has a 4,000mAh battery which supports fast charging and comes along with a 15W charger. So, the Vivo V15 and Galaxy A50 are at par with each other in terms of battery performance.

As for the optics, the Huawei P30 Lite flaunts a triple camera setup on the back which consists of a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.8 lens + an 8MP ultra wide-angle camera + a 2MP third camera for depth effect. For selfies, the phone gets a 32MP selfie snapper on the front with f/2.0 aperture. The Vivo V15 also gets three AI based cameras on the rear comprising of a primary 12MP sensor + a secondary 8-megapixel sensor + a 5-megapixel third sensor. The front hosts a 32-megapixel pop-up sensor for clicking selfies and making video calls. The Galaxy A50 also gets a triple rear camera setup that includes a 25-megapixel (f/1.7) sensor + 5-megapixel (f/2.2) depth shooter + 8-megapixel (f/2.2) ultra-wide angle lens paired with LED flash and a slew of camera modes. There’s a 25MP lens on the front with f/2.0 for selfies and video calling.
On paper, all three phones have an at par camera set up and it is difficult to pick any one as a winner. The Vivo V15 may be slightly more appealing to selfie lovers due to its unique pop-up front camera mechanism.

If you are looking at a overall package deal, then Huawei P30 Lite is the phone to go for as it comes with good chipset, camera set up, OS and is priced better than the other two phones. If you hate the display notch, then Vivo V15 is the option to consider as it comes with notch less display due to the pop-up selfie camera. The Galaxy A50 doesn’t do that well in terms of overall performance and thus we won’t recommend the same.
