Huawei has launched two new flagship smartphones dubbed as Huawei P30 and Huawei P30 Pro. The phones were launched at an event held in Paris, France today. The phones are successors to last year’s P20 and P30 Pro smartphones respectively and come with top-notch cameras along with cutting edge technologies. Highlights of the devices other than the camera set up include bezel-less displays and Kirin 980 SoC. Notably, Amazon India has gone live ‘Notify Me’ page for the Huawei P30 series, hinting that the flagship series will be coming to India very soon. The exact launch date and the pricing in India is still not confirmed. We can take a guess based on the price in Europe.

Huawei P30 and P30 Pro Price

The Huawei P30 comes with a price tag of EUR 799 (roughly Rs. 62,200) for the sole 6GB RAM + 128GB of internal storage. While the Huawei P30 Pro comes with a starting price tag of EUR 999 (roughly Rs. 77,800) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage variant. The mid-variant i.e. 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage is priced at EUR 1,099 (roughly Rs. 85,600) and the top variant 8GB RAM + 512GB inbuilt storage model is priced at EUR 1,249 (roughly Rs 97,200). It needs to be noted that prices in India won’t be exactly as converted here as the prices in Europe are usually on the higher side.

Both the phones will be available in Black, and four new gradient finishes— Amber Sunrise, Aurora, Breathing Crystal, and Pearl White.

Huawei P30 Pro Features and Specifications

The Huawei P30 Pro sports a 6.47-inch full-HD+ OLED screen with 1080×2340 pixel screen resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display features Acoustic Display Technology that uses an in-screen maglev speaker to turn the display itself into a speaker. This is similar to LG G8 ThinQ. The device is powered by 7nm manufacturing process-based octa-core Kirin 980 SoC with Mali-G76 GPU and 8GB of RAM. There are three options in terms of inbuilt storage- 128GB, 256GB and 512GB. The phone is IP68 certified for resistance against dust and water. It runs Google’s latest Android 9 Pie OS with the company’s EMUI 9.1 on top and is backed by a 4,200mAh battery with support for Huawei’s 40W super charge technology. In addition, the phone comes with wireless as well as reverse wireless charging technology. Huawei claims that it has introduced a graphene film cooling system to manage the heat during extended gaming sessions.

For the camera buffs, the Huawei P30 Pro bears a quad rear camera set up comprising of a 40-megapixel primary sensor with an f/1.6 aperture + a 20-megapixel ultra-wide-angle secondary sensor with an f/2.2 aperture + an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/3.4 aperture and a fourth Time-of-Flight (TOF) camera. The front gets a 32-megapixel camera for selfies and video calls.

Huawei P30 Features and Specifications

Huawei P30 comes equipped with a slightly smaller 6.1-inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display features a dew drop notch at the top that houses the 32MP selfie snapper. At the rear, the device features a triple camera module consisting of a 40-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture + a wide-angle lens of 16-megapixel with f/2.4 aperture + an 8-megapixel telephoto sensor. It is powered by the same octa-core Kirin 980 SoC with Mali-G76 GPU and comes in single memory variant i.e. 6GB of RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage. All of this is backed by a comparatively smaller 3,650mAh battery with Huawei’s 40W super charge support. In terms of software, the phone will be shipped with Android 9 Pie OS based EMUI 9.1.
