Huawei, the Chinese manufacturer, has announced two new tablets namely the Huawei MediaPad M5 Youth Edition and Enjoy Tablet in China. The announcement comes alongside the unveiling of the 13-inch MateBook.

Huawei MediaPad M5 Youth Edition

The MediaPad M5 Youth Edition comes with a 10.1-inch IPS LCD screen. The screen has a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels. The tablet is equipped with quad speakers tuned by Harmon Kardon. The device features support for Huawei’s Histen sound technology.

The MediaPad M5 Youth Edition is powered by a massive 7,500mAh battery. The battery is enabled with support for 18W fast charging. The device can be charged in 2.9 hours. After being completely charged, the tablet offers its users continuous video viewing for 13 hours and 55 hours of music playback.

The tablet is powered by Kirin 659 chipset. It is backed by 4GB of RAM and internal storage of 64 GB. The tablet offers a provision for a microSD card slot. The tablet comes with its own version of a stylus known as the M-Pen Lite. It empowers the users with a delightful experience where they feel as if they are holding a pen. It supports pressure sensitivity of up to 2,048 points.

In the camera department, the tablet is equipped with a selfie camera of 8-megapixels with f/2.0 aperture. It sports another 8-megapixel with f/2.0 aperture with autofocus as a rear camera sensor.

The tablet comes pre-installed with EMUI 8.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The connectivity features available on the device include 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB-C. The home button of the device features an embedded fingerprint scanner for enhanced security and authentication. The dimensions of the tablet are 243.4 x 162.2 x 7.7 mm.

The Wi-Fi only edition of the MediaPad M5 Youth Edition comes at a price tag of 1,899 Yuan, which roughly converts to $275 or a little over Rs. 19,900. The LTE model is priced at 2,099 Yuan which converts to around Rs. 22000.

The tablet is available in Champagne Gold colour only. The pre-orders for the tablet have started and it will begin to ship from November 11 onwards.

Huawei Enjoy Tablet

The Huawei Enjoy Tablet packs in a 10.1-inch display which comes with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels. The tablet is powered by the Kirin 659 chipset. It boasts of 4 GB of RAM and offers up to 64 GB of inbuilt storage. The Enjoy tablet is preinstalled with EMUI 8.0 based Android 8.0 Oreo OS. The tablet offers a microSD slot for additional storage. The company has not yet confirmed if there would be support for M-Pen stylus on the Enjoy tablet.

The Huawei Enjoy Tablet is powered by a battery of 5,100mAh capacity which is smaller than the battery powering the Huawei MediaPad M5. The tablet supports 10W charging and hence can completely charge faster.

As for the camera on the device, the selfie camera is a 2-megapixel shooter and the rear camera is a 5-megapixel shooter. The tablet ensures a myriad of connectivity options including Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, microUSB 2.0, GPS and even the 3.5mm audio jack. The tablet is also empowered with the Huawei Histen sound technology. The Huawei Enjoy Tablet measures 243 x 164 x 7.8mm.

The Wi-Fi only 4 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage models of the Huawei Enjoy tablet comes with a price tag of 1,299 Yuan and 1599 Yuan respectively. This roughly converts to $187 or a little over Rs. 13500 for the 4GB RAM/ 32GB storage variant. The 4GBRAM/ 64GB storage variant will cost you $231 or roughly Rs. 16750. The tablet would come in two colour variants namely Meteorite Black and Champagne Gold. The Huawei Enjoy tablet has already begun selling from November 6 onwards in China.
