Huawei Mate 20 Pro launched in IndiaHuawei has launched its latest smartphone dubbed as Huawei Mate 20 Pro in India. Notably, this is the first time that Huawei is launching its Mate series in the country which highlights the company’s growing confidence in the Indian market. The highlight of the device is its triple rear camera set up which is similar to Huawei P20 Pro which was launched earlier this year. Another highlight of the device is its latest HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC which is very fast as well as power-efficient.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Price in India

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro 6GB RAM variant is priced in India at Rs. 69,990. The company will bring the 8GB RAM variant later on. The phone will be sold online exclusively via Amazon.in starting from next week i.e. December 3 for Amazon Prime users and from December 4 for regular users. As an introductory offer, Huawei is giving a pair of Sennheiser headset worth Rs 29,990 if you buy the Mate 20 Pro for Rs 71,990.

Huawei Mate 20 Pro Features and Specifications

The Huawei Mate 20 Pro sports a 6.39-inch 2K+ OLED display with 3120×1440 pixel screen resolution and 538 ppi pixel density. Under the hood, the device is powered by Huawei’s latest 2.6GHz Kirin 980 chipset that is based on a 7nm process. The new chipset has 75 per cent performance upgrade, 46 per cent GPU performance upgrade and 58 per cent power efficiency over its predecessor chip as claimed by the company. In terms of memory, there are two options- 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM + 256GB inbuilt storage. The storage is expandable via Nano memory card up to 256GB. However, as mentioned earlier, the company is bringing only the 6GB RAM variant in the market as of now. In terms of software, the Mate 20 Pro will run EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie operating system out of the box. All of this will be backed by a 4,200mAh battery with support for 40W fast charging. The device will also have support for 15W wireless charging. In addition, there’s support for wireless reverse charging to charge other Qi wireless devices.

In terms of optics, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro flaunts a triple camera system on the back which comprises of a 40MP wide-angle lens with f/1.8 aperture + a 20MP Ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture + an 8MP telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture. The rear camera set up has LED flash support. The front hosts a 24MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 3D depth sensing feature.

For security purpose, the Mate 20 Pro features an in-display fingerprint sensor that can unlock the device by placing a finger on a specific part of the display. In addition, the top display notch also houses some sensors to enable 3D facial recognition as an alternative biometric login.

In terms of dimensions, the Huawei Mate 20 Pro measures 157.8 x 72.3 x 8.6 mm and weighs about 189 grams. It comes with IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. Connectivity options provided in the phone are 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, dual-band Bluetooth v5.0, Bluetooth v5.0 LE with aptX, GPS/ A-GPS, GLONASS, and a USB Type-C port.
