Huawei has unveiled its latest 13-inch MateBook laptop in China. The newest laptop from the company will come with a fingerprint scanner and NFC connectivity.

The notebook sports a 13.3-inch touchscreen display with almost no bezels. The resolution of the screen is 2160 x1440 pixels and it comes with a screen-to-body ratio of 88 percent. The bezels occupy only 4.4 mm in thickness and the display features 100 percent RGB colour gamut. The display is lit up with 300 nits of brightness.

The Matebook weighs 1.3 kgs and it is only 14.9mm on the thickest side. It is 6 percent lighter than the MateBook X Pro. The Matebook comes with an NFC for additional connectivity that is placed on the right palm rest. Due to the NFC feature, users of the laptop can share files from their laptops to NFC-enabled smartphones and they can also share files back from their smartphones to the laptop. The speed of sharing files can go up to 30MBps. The power button of the Matebook embeds a fingerprint scanner on to the power button.

Under the hood, the MateBook is powered by an 8th Gen Intel Core i5-826U with UHD620 graphics or an 8th Gen Core i5-8560U with NVIDIA MX150 graphics. The Matebook is powered by 8GB RAM and and 256GB of SSD storage. It is powered by a 42-watt battery.

The Matebook is equipped with Huawei’s Shark Fin Fan 2.0 technology. It enables the laptop to stay cool as it features two fans and two heat pipes to dissipate the heat from inside the Matebook.

The Matebook will go for pre-order in December 2018. Huawei has yet not revealed the price of the Matebook.
