Huami, one of the leading companies in wearable technology, has launched its Amazfit Verge smartwatch in China. The smartwatch enables continuous all-day long heart rate monitoring and sends instant notification in case of abnormal heart rate. The wearable comes with GPS and NFC packed in at an extremely cost-effective price point. The price tag that the Amazfit Verge will carry would be 799 yuan, which approximately converts to Rs. 8,400. The price slots the Amazfit Verge right in between the Amazfit Bip and Amazfit Pace in terms of the price at which it is available for sale.

The Amazfit Verge packs in a 1.3-inch circular AMOLED display. The resolution of the display is 360 x 360 pixels. It is protected by a Gorilla Glass 3. The Amazfit Verge is made of reinforced plastic of a 42mm form factor. Its silicone straps make it easy to wear, remove and replace the strap when the user feels the need.

Under the hood, the smartwatch is powered by a dual-core 1.2GHz processor, coupled with 512MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The wearable comes with the usual bunch of sensors including the air pressure and geomagnetic sensors. The heart rate tracking and monitoring feature of the Amazfit Verge can run all-day with a high precision optical sensor that is around 98% accurate and consumes 80% less power.

The Amazfit Verge comes with seamless connectivity options including GPS + GLONASS, WiFi and Bluetooth v4.0 LE. The smartwatch is IP68 certified for water resistance which conveys that the device can survive under water up to a depth of 2 metres for half an hour. The device is equipped with NFC capabilities and can thus help in making contactless payments.

The Amazfit Verge comes with 11 different modes for activities. It has 13 built-in watch faces including three watch faces designed in partnership with San Francisco-based Territory Studio. The Amazfit Verge packs in support for Xiaomi’s Mijia Smart Home app and comes pre-installed with Xiao AI assistant.

Huami, the makers of Amazfit Verge, has promised a battery life of up to 5 days on a single charge on moderate usage.

The Amazfit Verge will be available in Sky Gray colour for an asking price of 799 yuan (approx. Rs 8,400) and we can soon expect the smartwatch to land in India considering the recent popularity of the Amazfit watches in the country.
