HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 have many things in common. To begin with, here are certain features that are common in both of them. Both HTC One X and Samsung Galaxy S3 are Android phones. While One X runs on Android 4.0, S3 runs on Android 4.1.
Both the phones have large-screen (4.7” LCD screen of One X and 4.8” super AMOLED of S3), rounded-edge, stylish handsets. Both of them have a screen resolution of 1287×720 pixels and are equipped with Ambient Light Sensor, Multi Touch, Proximity Sensor, Additional Display Support and scratch-resistant glass. While One X is provided with HTC Sense interface, S3 comes with TouchWiz interface. Both have quad-core silicon inside and are available in the following networks:
• Edge / 2G (GSM / GPRS)
• 3G (HSPDA / CDMA)
• 4G (LTE / HSPA+)
With One’X HD Display much better than S3’s, HTC’s One has score up on this one.
Another common factor that both of them have is with respect to their pricing (with contract). Both of them cost about $99.00 (with contract). However, there’s a difference between their prices without contract. While HTC One X is being offered at $445, S3 is selling at $549.
Both of them sport 8 MP Back-Side Illuminated (BSI) CMOS sensors. This means that it becomes possible to capture good quality photos under dim –lit conditions as well. The hands-on experience starts that One X has a better camera which is fast in capturing pictures and easier to use as well.
Samsung S3 is ahead in terms of long battery life of 830hrs as compared to One X’s 384hrs and excellent 4G speed along with slimmer design look and feel. S3 is powered by a Lithium ion battery and allow you a talk time of around 10 hrs and 22 hrs respectively as compared to One X’s powered Lithium Polymer battery. S3 scores over One X in terms of providing 2048 MB RAM instead of the 1024 MB RAM which is yet another advantage.
But in terms of storage, S3 loses out as it offers just 16GB as against 32 GB offered by One X. Another point worth mentioning is that S3 allows up to 64 GB removable memory which is not offered by One X
Some other important features like the GPS navigation, Graphic Accelerator, HD Playback, microphone, DLNA and FM Receiver are all comparable in both the models, S3 has a FM Transmitter as well, while the One X doesn’t.
Coming to connectivity, both the smartphones provide wireless connectivity by means of Bluetooth, WiFi, NFC, 3G, 4G and Mobile Hotspot tethering.
Both the smartphones are power packed with powerful hardware and highly creative software so much so that they offer a tough choice when it comes to choosing between the two. Considering that One X already has an upgraded version in the form of One X+, it’s started striking a chord with potential smartphone buyers.
