HTC expands its Desire range with Desire 700 and 501 Smart Phones

HTC announced a new range of Desire handsets, Desire 700 and 501 at an event in its home market of Taiwan yesterday. The company also introduced dual-SIM version of its already announced Desire 601.

The Desire 700 is identical to HTC One in terms of design but has a plastic body. It sports a larger display than HTC One with 5″ but comparatively lower resolution of 960×540 resolution. The device is powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor with 1GB RAM. The details about chipset are not yet disclosed. There’s an in-built storage of 8GB and storage can be expanded up to 64GB with microSD card.

The handset has dual SIM functionality with GSM+GSM support. Back of the device features an 8MP rear camera with auto focus and LED flash, whereas the front has 2.1MP camera with BSI sensor. It’s equipped with 2100mAh battery and provides usual connectivity options like 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth etc.

htc501HTC Desire 501

HTC 501 is a bit similar to HTC One mini. It has 4.3″ WVGA screen with 800×480 resolution and is powered with 1.2GHz dual-core processor. The camera features are same as Desire 700 i.e. 8MP rear camera and 2.1MP front facing camera. The device is equipped with 1GB of RAM, 8GB in-built storage and 2100mAh battery.

The 501 will be three color variants available- White, Black and Pink.

All the three handsets- Desire 700, Desire 501 and Desire 601 will be available in Taiwan by next month, but there is no news about the availability in other global markets yet.
