HP Chromebook X2HP has launched a first-of-its-kind Chromebook. It is a laptop that is detachable and can be used as a tablet. While there are many other 2-in-1 Chromebooks available in the market, HP Chromebook x2 is the first and only one till now that has a completely detachable keyboard. This is an advancement over the other Chromebooks wherein the user can use it as a tablet by flipping the keyboard behind the screen.

“The HP Chromebook x2 hits a trifecta for customers, combining the productivity of the Chrome OS and power of the world’s most-used app platform into a versatile form factor ideal for experiencing all the Google ecosystem has to offer. As the world’s first Chromebook detachable, it will unlock new ways for people to create, collaborate and consume within Chrome and the Google Play Store,” said Kevin Frost, HP’s vice president and general manager of consumer personal systems.

HP Chromebook X2

The Chromebook x2 features a seventh-generation Intel Core m3 chip and is powered with 4 GB of RAM that can extend up to 8 GB. It comes with native storage of 32 GB and can expand up to 256 GB using a microSD card.

The HP Chromebook x2 features a 12.3-inch Corning Gorilla Glass 4 display with a resolution of 2,400 x 1,600. The company has claimed that its battery can last for around 10 hours on a single charge. The sleek gadget weighs 3.14 pounds with the keyboard and around 1.62 pounds without it. The Chromebook x2, with its specifications, can enable users to catch their favourite shows on Netflix, work on office projects, store their pictures and videos and do much more.

The HP Chromebook x2 houses two USB-C ports, including a headphone jack and a microSD port. The device packs a 13-megapixel rear camera that appeals to users using the device as a tablet. A 5-megapixel front camera enables users to get on video calls.

The Chromebook x2 will be introduced with a starting price of $599.99. It is expected to be ready for sale from June 10 through HP and Best Buy. HP will release certain models of the Chromebook with a digital pen.
