Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched its first smartphone with a punch-hole style selfie camera dubbed as Honor V20. This is similar to recently launched Huawei Nova 4 and Galaxy A8s. While Samsung calls its display the Infinity-O display, Honor is referring the new screen design on the V20 as the All-View display. The phone was first announced by the company at the start of the month at an event in Hong Kong but that was more like a brief teaser as company had hardly revealed any details then. Now, it has launched the device in its home town China. The other highlights of the phone include 48-megapixel Rear Camera, 25-megapixel selfie camera and Kirin 980 flagship chipset.

Honor has set a global launch for the new flagship in Paris on January 22 where the device will be called Honor View 20. The phone is expected to land in India at around the same time, although Honor India is yet to confirm the same.

Honor V20 Price and Availability

The Honor V20 is priced in China at CNY 2,999 i.e. roughly Rs. 30,500 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage base variant. The top variant i.e. 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at CNY 3,499 which is roughly Rs. 35,500. In addition, the company has also launched Moschcino Edition of the device with a price tag of CNY 3,999, which is roughly Rs. 40,500 and this variant comes with 8GB RAM + 256GB onboard storage. There are three colour options available for the interested buyers- Charm Blue, Red, and Midnight Black. However, the Moschcino Edition will come only in Red and Blue colour options

The Pre-orders of the smartphone have already started, and the shipping will start from December 28.

Honor V20 Features and Specifications

The Honor V20 sports a 6.4-inch full-HD+ TFT LCD display with 1080×2310 pixel screen resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio resulting into 91.82 percent screen-to-body ratio, and 398ppi pixel density. As mentioned earlier, the phone has an in-display selfie camera which helps to achieve a higher screen-to-body ratio. Under the hood, there’s a 7nm octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 980 SoC to keep things ticking. The phone supports GPU Turbo 2.0 technology for supporting intense gaming sessions. In addition, the phone is also equipped with The Nine liquid cooling system which is designed in an S-shaped to cool three core areas that includes camera, CPU and charging IC. There are two options in terms of memory- 6GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB inbuilt storage. The dual-SIM phone runs Android 9.0 Pie OS based on MagicUI 2.0.1 out of the box and is fueled by a 4,000mAh battery with support for fast charging. Globally, the phone will ship with EMUI 9.0.

For the camera buffs, there’s an impressive 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, 960fps slow-motion video recording support, autofocus, AI HDR, and LED flash support. In addition, there’s a secondary 3D Time of Flight (ToF) sensor to for depth sensing. The front hosts a 25-megapixel front sensor with f/2.0 aperture and fixed focus support.

Connectivity features provided in Honor V20 are Bluetooth v5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (dual band, 2.4GHz and 5GHz), GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C, and more. The phone also offers a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
