After launching a bunch of interesting smartphones, Huawei has unveiled a new tablet to bring in some variety. The Chinese company is good at many things, but naming a product is not of them. With a complete lack of imagination, Huawei has named its water-resistant tablet as WaterPlay. The IP67 certified tablet features a metal body. It also has a fingerprint sensor embedded in the home button.
The tablet sports a big 10.1-inch Full HD display with 1920 x 1200 pixels. It Is powered by Huawei’s home-grown Kirin 659 SoC clocked at 2.6 GHz. It comes in 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage configurations. There’s a microSD card slot too. The tablet runs Android Nougat 7.0 with EMUI 5.1 customisation on the top. The WaterPlay has four Harman-Kardon stereo speakers coupled with Huawei Histen 3D audio technology for optimum sound effect.
It gets an 8-megapixel rear camera and a selfie camera. The Honor WaterPlay Tab comes in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 4G LTE variants to choose from. It features a Type-C USB port for connectivity and charging purposes. The 6,660 mAh battery can be charged in just 2.5 hours. You can also use this tablet as a power bank if your phone requires a quick power top up. The company claims 12.8 hours of video or 9.3 hours of browsing on a single charge.
The Honor WaterPlay tablet is up for pre-order and goes on sale in China beginning from October 24. The pricing details are as follows:
