Honor Note 10 China Launch

After featuring in series of leaks and rumours, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has finally launched its Note 10 phablet at an event in China. The phablet comes with gigantic 6.95-inch screen and is packed with flagship features such as GPU Turbo, Fast Charging, Dolby Atmos Speakers etc. It is a successor of Honor Note 8 phablet launched by the company in 2016. Notably, the Honor has skipped the Note 9 to directly launch the Note 10 phablet.

Honor Note 10 Price and Availability:

The base variant of Note 10 i.e. 6GB RAM + 64GB internal storage is priced at CNY 2,799 which is roughly Rs. 28,000. The middle variant with 6GB RAM + 128GB onboard storage is priced at CNY 3,199 i.e. roughly Rs. 32,000. Whereas the top variant of 8GB RAM + 128GB storage will come with a price tag of CNY 3,599 i.e. approx. Rs. 36,000. There are two color options available for the users- Phantom Blue and Midnight Black. The phone will first go on sale in company’s hometown starting from August 3. It will be available across all leading e-commerce platforms like Huawei Mall, Jingdong, Tmall, Suning, and more. There is no official announcement on the availability of the phone outside of China, but it is expected to hit Indian market by the end of third quarter. The Chinese manufacturer has a global event scheduled on 30th August, where you can expect the announcement regarding the same.

Honor Note 10 Display:

As mentioned earlier, the Honor Note 10 sports a massive 6.95-inch AMOLED Full HD+ FullView display with an aspect ratio of 18.5:9 and 600 nit peak brightness. The phone features extremely thin bezels as compared to its predecessor Note 8 which results into a higher screen-to-body ratio of about 87 percent.

Honor Note 10 OS and Processor

The Note 10 runs Google’s latest Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box that is customized with Huawei’s own EMUI 8.2 skin on top. Under the hood, the device is powered by HiSilicon 64-bit octa-core Kirin 970 chipset coupled with Honor’s GPU Turbo technology. The phone also features CPU Turbo technology and liquid cooling feature. All of these combined together boost the graphics output and also keep the phone cool even during prolonged gaming sessions. The RAM will be 4GB, 6GB or 8GB and internal storage capacity will be 64GB or 128GB with an option to expand up to 256GB via hybrid microSD card.

Honor Note 10 Camera:

For the camera buffs, the Note 10 features a dual camera set up on the rear with 24-megapixel primary snapper and a 16-megapixel secondary snapper with f/1.8 aperture and LED flash. While the front hosts a 13-megapixel snapper with f/2.0 aperture for selfies and video calls. The selfie camera supports features like portrait mode and scene detection. The camera set up also comes with several AI backed features like AI stabilisation etc.

Honor Note 10 Battery:

The Note 10 is fueled by an impressive 5,000mAh battery which comes with Huawei’s SuperCharge technology for fast charging. According to the company, the phone can last up to 6.5 hours of continuous gaming and 17.5 hours of non-stop video playback in a single charge.

For security purpose, there’s a rear mounted fingerprint sensor and Face Unlock feature. In terms of connectivity, the phone includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS and USB-C. The handset lacks a 3.5mm audio jack though, so you’ll need to carry an extra accessory in case you wish to use headphones with 3.5mm jack.

Our Verdict:

Overall, we feel the Honor Note 10 is a significant improvement over its predecessor Note 8. The company mentioned that it took two years and skipped Note 9 as they invested the time in research in order to launch a quality product. Considering the features and specifications, the wait seems to be worth.
