Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor has been quite incremental in bringing volumes for the Chinese Telecom giant in India. The recently launched Honor 7X and Honor 9i have found quite a success in the midrange category. The 2017’s flagship, Honor 8 Pro did very well in the Indian market. Now, the Chinese manufacturer is prepping up to launch its Honor 9 Lite with quad-cameras in India. It went on sale in China on December 26 2017. In India, the phone will be available exclusively via Flipkart. It will be slotted between the Honor 7X and Honor 9i as far as pricing goes.
The Honor 9 Lite comes with a premium looking build with glass on the front and back as opposed to metal unibody of the Honor 7X and Honor 9i. Keeping the bezels minimum, the fascia is in line with Honor’s other smartphones. The rear design however has an uncanny resemblance to the Apple iPhone 8 Plus with its horizontally stacked dual lens on the top left corner. The fingerprint sensor is ergonomically placed on the back panel. The Honor 9 Lite sports a 5.65-inch FHD+ screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 2.5D curved glass.
The phone is powered by an octa-core Kirin 659 SoC (System on Chip) coupled with Mali T830- MP2 GPU which also underpins the Honor 7X and Honor 9i. It is equipped with 3 GB / 4 GB RAM and will come in 32 GB storage / 64 GB storage options which can be expanded further by up to 256 GB via the microSD card slot.
On the photography front, it sports dual camera setups at both the front and rear which is 13 MP + 2 MP. The rear camera sensors are accompanied by an LED flash while the front shooters make do with a soft screen flash light. Other features include Dual-SIM support with VoLTE calling support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS / GLONASS. It comes shod with a 3000 mAh battery pack inside and runs on Android Oreo 8.0 out of the box.
