Chinese telecom equipment giant Huawei’s subsidiary brand Honor introduced the 7X in India. The successor to the popular camera-centric Honor 6X, will be available exclusively via Amazon India. If you are interested in securing one for yourself, head over to the registrations page.
The Honor 7X gets its design and hardware from the Honor 9i, which was launched a few weeks ago. Taking a departure from the Honor 6X’s design language, the Honor 7X sports a bezel-less design. It features a 5.93-inche Full HD+ curved display. The 7X’s back resembles its sibling the Honor 8 Pro. It holds horizontally stacked dual cameras and a fingerprint sensor. It is powered by Huawei’s home-grown Kirin 659 SoC, which also fuels the Honor 9i. It bears 4 GB of RAM and comes in 32 GB / 64 GB / 128 GB variants. There’s also an expandable card slot which supports up to a whopping 256 GB.
The rear camera comes in a 16 MP + 2 MP configuration. The secondary 2 MP lens is backed by a monochrome sensor, which captures depth information for bokeh effect. The Honor 7X skips the dual-selfie cameras found on the Honor 9i due to its budget constraints and houses a single lens 8 MP unit.
The Honor 7X runs on Android Nougat 7.0 with Huawei’s own EMUI 5.1 customisation on top of it. The phone gets the juice from a non-removable 3340 mAh battery. The phone comes in Gold, Aurora Blue, and Black. Considering that the Honor 9i with similar specs sells for Rs 17,999 in India, I guess the Honor 7X will be priced slightly less than that.
