Honor 10 Launched in IndiaHuawei’s sub-brand Honor has launched the Honor 10 smartphone globally at an event held in London. The phone was earlier launched in Chinese market in the month of April. The global launch date clearly hints at the brand’s intention to take on the much-awaited OnePlus 6 smartphone which will be launched on May 16 in London, followed by the launch in India and China on May 17.

Honor 10 Price in India, Offers and Availability:

The Honor 10 will be Flipkart exclusive and will be put up on the site with a price tag of Rs. 32,999. It is already available for pre-order on the eCommerce giant’s website. Interested buyers have an option of no cost EMI starting at Rs. 3,667 and they can also get Rs. 5000 extra over regular exchange value on select devices. Axis bank Credit and Debit card users can get 10% instant discount, taking the effective price of the device down to Rs. 29,999. Color options available to the buyer are Phantom Blue and Midnight Black. The Phantom Blue variant has a two-tone color gradient finish which reflects different colous depending upon the angle you look at it from. Those who prefer a subtle look, can go for Midnight Black option which is not so jazzy.

Honor 10 Display:

The Honor 10 bears a 5.84-inch Full HD+ (2280×1080 pixel resolution) FullView Display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. However, the display comes with the controversial iPhone X like notch at the top, which is not liked by majority of the smartphone users. Luckily, company has provided an option to hide the notch if they wish to, by making the status bar black.

Honor 10 OS, Battery and Other Hardware:

The Honor 10 runs Android Oreo 8.1.0 based EMUI 8.1 operating system out of the box and is backed by a 3,400mAh battery with fast charging support. The company claims that the battery can be charged up to 50% in less than 25 minutes. Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa core AI backed Huawei Kirin 970 processor along with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There is no option to expand the storage though.

The device features Qualcomm’s ultrasonic fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication which is more accurate than the regular fingerprint scanners and it can read the fingerprint correctly even when the finger is wet or greasy. Xiaomi’s Mi 5s was the first smartphone to feature such ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.

Honor 10 Camera:

In terms of camera, the Honor 10 hosts a dual camera setup on the rear comprising of 24MP + 16MP sensors with f/1.8 aperture, LED flash and PDAF (phase-detection autofocus) for fast focusing. The rear camera setup can take portrait shots with shallow depth of field and also supports up to 2X optical zoom. The front hosts an impressive 24MP selfie sensor with AI features and also supports 3D portrait lighting.
