Huawei‘s sub-brand Honor has scheduled an event in London (UK) on May 15. Company has already started rolling out the media invites for the event. Here’s how the invite looks like,

Honor 10 Media Invite

Based on the outline of smartphone featuring in the media event, the device to be launched at the event is none other than company’s next flagship Honor 10, which is the successor of last year’s Honor 9 and is likely to be positioned alongside Honor View10. The invite also features a tagline- “Beauty in AI”, with a shutter icon closing to reveal the letters ‘AI’. Which hints at a high-end smartphone featuring artificial intelligence-enabled camera.

Honor usually unveils its new flagships during the second quarter of the year. The Honor 9 was announced in June 2017. However, the Honor 10 may get unveiled a month earlier. This isn’t surprising as South Korean tech giant Samsung is also expected to launch its flagship Galaxy Note 9 earlier than usual. Some other smartphone makers like LG are also expected to do the same. This mainly to combat the competition from Apple’s new smartphones which are expected to be launched in September at Apple’s annual event.

There are not much details available about the Honor 10 specifications but the device is expected to sport the iPhone X like notch, though that’s not visible in the media invite. Recently, Honor’s parent company Huawei launched two smartphones P20 and P20 Pro with iPhone X like notch. The Honor 10 can become Honor’s first device to sport the famous (or infamous) iPhone X notch. Other rumoured specifications of Honor 10 include 5.7-inch display, 4GB/6GB RAM, 64GB/128GB internal storage.

Honor 10’s predecessor Honor 9 was not launched in India. However, the parent company Huawei recently launched the P20 and P20 Pro smartphones in India recently although it skipped the P10 last year.

Stay tuned for further updates.
