HMD Global tasted quite a bit of success with its recently launched Nokia 3, 5 and 6 smartphones in India. The Nokia 6 has sold volumes and is still tough to get hold of in flash sales in India. After unveiling the flagship Nokia 8 a few weeks back, the company is now company supposedly gearing up to unveil the entry-level Nokia 2.
The handset credentials have been spotted in the database of US based authentication website FCC. According to Roland Quandt, known for scoops, the Nokia 2 will sport a 5-inch HD 720p display and will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 212 SoC (System on Chip). It may come in a dual-SIM avatar with 4G VoLTE support. However, the USP of the device is going to be the massive 4000 mAh battery. Don’t expect Quick Charge support on this one as this is a very basic chipset, but it could come with a 2A charger in the box.
The large battery coupled with a low-energy consuming processor could provide the Nokia 2 long battery life. The build quality can be expected to be robust as seen on other Nokia smartphones. Positioned below the Nokia 3, if priced aggressively this could turn out to be very popular in India.
