
HMD Global Launched Nokia 2.4 & Nokia 3.4 In The Budget Category With Triple Camera Setup
In a recent event, HMD Global has revealed two Nokia smartphones in the budget segment, Nokia 2.4, and Nokia 3.4. The brand is trying to grab the market after a long haul where Nokia 3.4 is coming after last year’s Nokia 3.2 which was launched in Feb ’19. Nokia 2.4 is coming as a descendant to Nokia 2.3 that surfaced in December ’19. The 5G variant, Nokia 8.3 5G was introduced in March this year and in the same Nokia 2.4 & Nokia 3.4 event, HMD Global confirmed its global availability. The company also launched TWS earphones, Nokia Power Earbuds along with a portable wireless speaker.
Nokia 2.4 & Nokia 3.4: Key specs & features
HMD Global’s Nokia 2.4 will sport a screen size of 6.5” with an IPS LCD panel. The smartphone is built quite slimmer with an aspect ratio of 20:9 and HD+ resolution. The device will be powered by a prudent MediaTek’s Helio P22 chip on 3 GB RAM. The onboard storage will be 32 GB on the base variant.
Nokia 2.4 is also equipped with a large 4,500 mAh battery and the company claims the battery will last up to 2 days on average use. The screen will feature a waterdrop notch having a 5MP selfie camera. On the rear, the primary camera module is placed in the top-middle section. It’s a dual-camera array having 13 MP f/2.2 sensor paired with a 2 MP depth camera.
The latter, Nokia 3.4 will come with a bit smaller 6.39” punch-hole display. The panel will be an IPS LCD with Full HD+ resolution. Nokia 3.4 will go all the way up to 400 nits brightness and the aspect ratio will be 19.5:9. Nokia 2.4 will come with a resolution of 720*1600 pixels whereas the Nokia 3.4 will offer 720*1560 pixels.
Nokia 3.4 will be powered by Qualcomm’s entry-level Snapdragon 460 SoC paired with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage. Not just the screen, but the Nokia 3.4 will also house a smaller battery of 4,000 mAh battery. The company claims it to also last 2 days on a single charge. The punch hole cutout will house a bigger 8 MP selfie camera and the rear will hold a triple-camera module housed in a circular layout. The primary camera will be a 13 MP sensor paired with a 5 MP & 2 MP sensors for wide-angle and depth, respectively.
Both the variants are launched under the Android One program and will run on the latest Android 10. HMD Global is promising the software updates up to 2 years and a monthly security patch up to 3 years. Some common features include a dedicated microSD card slot, 10W charging support (5W on Nokia 2.4), single-band WiFi, dual 4G VoLTE, dedicated Google Assistant button, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, and a 3.5mm audio port. Nokia 2.4 will come with a micro USB port and you will get USB type-C on Nokia 3.4.
Pricing & availability
There will be two variants of Nokia 2.4, 2+32GB and 3+64GB.fd The 2/32 GB variant is available in Europe at €119 (~₹10,200). The smartphone will be available in 3 color variants, Dusk, Charcoal, and Fjord. Nokia 2.4 will be available globally from September-end.
Coming to the elder brother, Nokia 3.4 will come in 3 storage variants, 3/32 GB, 3/64 GB, & 4/64 GB. The base variant is priced at €159 (~₹13,700). The smartphone will be put on sale globally in early October.
